On this School Principals' Day, let's go above and beyond to celebrate the remarkable leaders who infuse our schools with passion, purpose, and possibility. Behind every successful school stands a visionary principal, shaping futures and leaving indelible marks on the hearts and minds of all who pass through their doors. Here are some ideas: Acts of Kindness: Encourage students and staff to perform random acts of kindness throughout the day and dedicate them to your principal. Professional Development Opportunities: Invest in your principal's professional growth by providing opportunities for further training, networking, or attending educational conferences. Community Service Project: In honor of your principal, organize a community service project in partnership with your school to give back to the local community. Create a Wall of Gratitude: Identify a prominent spot in the school where students, staff, and parents can pen their heartfelt words and expressions of gratitude for the principal. Unveiling this wall will be a powerful testament to the principal's influence and the appreciation they command. #SchoolSpirit #ThankAPrincipal #SchoolPrincipalsDay

When a bridge is built between school and home, great things can happen for students! Here's a quote from some recent feedback on this course - "I really appreciated the 3 goals to keep in mind when working with families.?Stating them at the beginning and revisiting at the end clearly emphasized the importance of everything in the middle.?The step-by-step information about how to make a phone call or do a conference was extremely helpful. This course was informative and very helpful in parent/family communication."
Connecting with families is an essential part to ensuring today's students to become tomorrow's leaders. In our "Nurturing Positive Family Connections" course, we share ideas on how to build strong relationships with families throughout the year and how to connect with families to discuss students progress on discipline, goals, and engagement in the classroom. Building a strong #schoolhomeconnection creates an environment where children can grow into the ideal leader—one that goes beyond authority and commands, and instead, emphasizes inspiration, empowerment, and impact. https://lnkd.in/gT_9_r-3 #LeadershipDevelopment #NurturingLeaders #PositiveFamilyConnections #positiveschools #teachers #educators #SocialEmotionalLearning #SELskills #socialemotionalskills #communitybuilders #SELparents #SELkids #TodayStudentsTomorrowLeaders #SELLeaders #FutureLeaders #SELDAY

September 7: Leading with Compassion Compassion is at the core of human and heart-centered leadership. It’s about recognizing the humanity in everyone we lead—our staff, colleagues, students, and parents—and meeting them with empathy and understanding. In the busy, often high-pressure environment of a school, it can be easy to focus on tasks and outcomes, but true leadership is about caring for the people who make those outcomes possible. Consider how you lead with compassion. Take the time to ask how the Teachers, Education Assistants, Early Childhood Educators, Clerical and Custodial staff are doing; listen to the concerns of a struggling student, or offer support to a parent facing challenges at home. Compassionate leadership builds loyalty and trust, and it creates a sense of safety within the school community. When people feel seen and cared for, they are more likely to invest in the work and in the relationships around them. This week, how will you lead with compassion? #compassion #leadership #heartcentered #schoolleader #trust #mindfulleadership

As an educator, you have no choice but to be action-orientated. You have to make an endless amount of decisions every day that have a real-time impact on kids' lives. It is high-pressure and non-negotiable. As folks start to leave the school building and transition to new roles, they begin to lose their action orientation. It is evidence of how far removed folks are from the day-to-day lives of educators, school leaders, and, ultimately, students.

@jirehhills_familyhomestead ??? Did you know that our Farm & Forest School embraces a powerful educational tool? Yes, when children grow and learn valuable skills they can and should be encouraged to teach other children and provide a valuable example to their peers. One of our daughters, Ruth Anne, enjoys demonstrating through exemplary leadership skills not only how to hand milk a dairy goat, but she engages each child with sensory stimulation and hands-on involvement with each lesson. As a homesteading, homeschooling mama, I can now just sit back, relax and enjoy the show! ?? Our Farm & Forest School program provides an alternative learning opportunity for children of all ages to not only see where their food comes from, but they engage in productive and meaningful work that reinforces the development and basic of their entire lives future potential. That’s pretty important stuff! What are your thoughts on children teaching children? How does YOUR child learn best? What do you look forward to seeing develop in your child as he/she grows up and becomes the leader? Do you encourage leadership in your child’s life? What are your success stories? #educationalfarm #farmschool #ontariohomestead #leadership #childrenteach #leadbyexample #dairygoats #milkinggoats #raisingdaughters #raisingleaders Do you think these kiddos will remember their lesson today?

?? Teamwork makes the dream work ?? Laurie Ehrlich, MBA and I had a great day partnering with Sarah May Campbell and Caitlin Rettaliata of The Orr Group. We hosted Baltimore area school Development Directors for a conversation around #alumni engagement and how the enrollment, marketing and development teams can work together to bump up that engagement. I walked away with a zillion ideas on alumni engagement, yielding more $ coming into schools, longterm family loyalty, and eventual enrollment of 2nd and 3rd generation kids at school. ______________________ I help school leaders get better at what they do.
