The Power of #Mentorship: Why It Matters
I was asked today “do you have a mentor?” and I couldn't answer that question.
Throughout my time in the #Army, I learned firsthand how transformative mentorship can be. As a leader, I made it my mission to mentor my soldiers—helping them navigate challenges, identify their strengths, and achieve their goals. Watching them grow and succeed was one of the most rewarding aspects of my career.
Now, as I transition into the private sector, I find myself in a different position: looking for mentorship to help guide me through this next chapter of my professional journey.
Mentorship is a two-way street. It’s about sharing knowledge, providing guidance, and learning from someone who has walked the path ahead of you. For me, it was critical in the Army, where mentorship strengthened teams and built resilience. I believe the same principles apply to building a career in the corporate world.
As I step into this new arena, I recognize the value of having someone to challenge my thinking, share their experiences, and offer perspective. I’m eager to learn, grow, and pay it forward—just as I did with my soldiers.
To all my connections: if you’ve had a mentor who impacted your life, I’d love to hear your story. And if you’re someone who believes in the power of mentorship, I’d welcome the chance to connect and learn from you.
Together, we grow stronger. That’s the power of mentorship.
