I've been covering tech in #Columbus since mid-2010. The industry has grown so much locally, and so much is on the horizon. So it's time to zoom out a bit and ask: Is Central Ohio a true tech hub yet? https://bizj.us/1qmd2f
Thank you for your coverage of the tech industry!
You’re awesome Carrie and the tech community here in Columbus appreciates all that you’ve done to tell the story.
Very excited to see the trend line continues in Columbus' favor.
I really like the rowers in the same boat analogy! We're all pushing the Midwest forward.
YES - We are the SILICON HEARTLAND - thanks Carrie Ghose for your coverage of our amazing growth - we are here!
Our non-profit tech and startup community wouldn't show up in the typical economic and business metrics but it's the best in the country. Tech Community Coalition recently did a count and we've 60+ groups (conferences, monthly groups, professional organizations) that meet regularly. This is part of our secret sauce and part of what makes us the hub that we are. #cbustech is where it's at.
Carrie Ghose - absolutely we have become a leading tech hub. A microcosm example: Our Central Ohio market leads our company in client activity nearly every year now. I get people from across the company asking me why - first answer is 'well, it is great market for a technology firm to be in'...then I get the eyeroll and push back 'But it is Columbus..it is not like you are Denver or Boston'...and I respond 'Yes! Exactly! We are a better tech community than those big markets' and lot of it has to do with the people that are responding to your post. Ben Blanquera, Chris Berry, Warner Moore

5 个月Having moved back home to Ohio, and Columbus, eight years ago from Raleigh, NC, I can say Columbus and Central Ohio has arrived and a true tech hub.
