Columbia International Arbitration Association (CIAA) was delighted to host Sérgio Germano Nascimento (Partner at Bermudes Advogados), Paige von Mehren (Senior Associate at Freshfields), and Dianne Lake (Associate at Arnold & Porter), for a panel titled “From Enforcement to Emergency Measures: Evolving Arbitration Practices in Latin America.” With arbitration in Latin America evolving rapidly, key questions arise on enforcement, emergency measures, and the region’s potential as a global arbitration hub. In this context, it was a great privilege to host Dianne Lake, Sergio Nascimento, and Paige von Mehren to unpack the legal and procedural challenges shaping arbitration in the region - from key sectors driving disputes to recent legal developments redefining the landscape.
