Yesterday, Crown Castle announced their new CEO. I'll admit I'm not surprised that he's a former exec at American Tower. Once Bradley Singer was put on Crown's board, I knew there were other dominoes to fall. It goes to show you how much influence Brad has already, but a fresh voice was needed at the helm of Crown. Ultimately, Steven Moskowitz is the right fit given his industry experience and you can't deny his impressive resume. American Tower grew to great lengths under the core leadership of Brad, Steven and others. What "others" will be plucked by Crown as they assemble American Tower's old dream team? I'm extremely excited to see what unfolds, but I see this as a positive for the telecom industry. What will be Steven's biggest course of action? Clearly, he's going to be involved in the potential sale of their fiber business. Given the extensive layoffs and proposed changes at Crown, I expect morale isn't in the best place. Good morale is crucial for Crown if they want to turn this ship around. Create an environment that people want to be a part of and don't cheap out on your talent. Riding the wave of Monday's multi-billion dollar news, Ben White, President and CEO of the Taylor EDC, enthusiastically updated us on the rapid progress of the city's economic development projects and gave us a good indication of what's ahead for the town. ? We know that Samsung Semiconductor is a positive force majeure for Taylor, but the City must continue diversifying for strong and steady growth. ? Ben touched on all five cornerstones of Taylor's economic development: ? ?? BUSINESS EXPANSION + RETENTION:?Taylor must take care of its local businesses. ? ?? BUSINESS ATTRACTION:?Including Tech, manufacturing, possible aerospace PLUS elevated retail and hospitality.? Now is the best time to shape what Taylor will be in 10 years. ? ?? This week, we're thrilled to acknowledge the 5-year work anniversary of Vic Faulkner and his impactful journey as our Operations Director at X2 (UK). Vic's relationship with us dates back even further, initially serving as Operations Manager from 2008 to 2012 and having worked closely with our Managing Director, Ian Cramb FCILT, for over 25 years. After a brief hiatus up North, Vic's return in 2019 has been nothing short of transformative. Ian Cramb had this to say about Vic: “Bringing Vic back into the X2 (UK) business was a fundamentally important part of our strategic plan to invest in people, processes, controls, and systems to turn what was a good business, into a great business. This has been achieved at all levels, despite the economic challenges that none of us could have predicted. Not only have we doubled in size since Vic joined, but we also have a tremendous platform to take advantage of the significant uplift in customers looking for our services in 2024. Vic is a consummate transport professional with a wealth of knowledge and diverse experience, but he is also great to work with and has a wicked sense of humour, which often is very welcome in a high-pressured transport environment!” Under Vic's leadership, we've navigated through unprecedented challenges, including Brexit, the global pandemic, and industry-wide driver shortages.
