The Education Trust Midwest’s latest report sheds light on critical challenges in Michigan’s education system. Nearly half of all students of color, and two-thirds of Black students, attend schools with high concentrations of poverty. These students are less likely to have experienced and effective teachers, which are crucial for student success. At Teach For America Detroit, we are committed to addressing these disparities by ensuring that every student, regardless of their background, has access to excellent educators.
