? Will you flip the script on work and labor in 2025? ??If higher education is to achieve its success goals, we must discuss the differences between academic work and labor. ??Practically every school I work with wants the outcomes that flow from labor: the pleasures of learning, high performance as a byproduct of learning, and lifelong learning. ??But they generate outcomes that flow from work —?drudgery, lack of dignity and frustration. They are not the same! ??I devote several pages to distinguishing between the two elements. ?? Work leads to more work; Labor is the road to transformation! Here's one example from Denison University of how transformation begins: https://lnkd.in/eZ7ssaEb
Follow me for ways to create a seamless, successful, and transformative college experience for all students from start to finish.
In 2025, start transforming your institution by educating your campus on the differences between academic work and labor. They look the same but produce very different outcomes.
