https://lnkd.in/e_DpBMB9 Just led a really lovely review Lancot School for Challenge Partners. Fantastic celebrating the huge range of support this primary school gives to its community from its specialist SEMH classes through to its Junior Leadership Team. As one Year 6 Junior Leader explained, 'It's an important role. It's like we're the CEO's of the company.' It was a TTRS day (for all of you in the know). Can you tell who the review team were, and who were the school's leaders? Answers on a postcard.... #schoolimprovement #leadershipdevelopment #peerworking #coproduction

This Friday, Cassidy Johnston will be leading an eye-opening session at the National Cattlemen's Beef Association’s #CattleCon24, and it’s something you won’t want to miss. The ranching industry is undergoing a significant demographic shift. Understanding and supporting the next generation of ranch leaders is not just necessary, it’s imperative for the future of American ranching. Did you know that the average age of ranchers in the U.S. is currently around 58 years? This statistic highlights the urgent need for fresh leadership in the industry. Cassidy’s session will be a crucial guide for young producers aspiring to become professional ranch managers, and for current leaders to understand the importance of this generational transition. If you’re attending Cassidy’s presentation, I’d love to meet and exchange thoughts. This session is set to be a game-changer, and connecting with fellow attendees could spark interesting discussions and opportunities. Expect to leave with a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to lead in modern ranch management and tools to navigate this evolving landscape. #Agriculture #Leadership #Sustainability #Innovation #CareerDevelopment

What inspires people to pay to give of their time and talent? A clear mission is probably a key component of the attraction, but what else? In my experience, my Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo leadership, from Assistant Captains to Committee Chairs and Directors have shown respect, and that has made all the difference. Respect for our time, shown through bringing food and sending messages of thanks following meetings and events. Respect for our dignity, shown through greeting us regardless of our status or affiliation ("affiliation" might also be a euphemism for "clique"). Respect for our talents, shown by interviewing us for committees and assigning us where we will add the most value (increasing the likelihood we will shine and be appreciated, and, in turn, be excited to contribute more in a cycle of giving excellence). Collins' "Good to Great" examines why every organization doesn't follow this clear path to buy-in, value-add, and retention/sustainability. #leadershipinsights #altruisme #serviceaboveself Rotary International

The Shepherd’s Lesson: Trust and Leadership In the rolling hills of a quaint village, there lived a wise shepherd named Elias. Elias tended to a large herd of sheep, guiding them through life’s pastures. But Elias was no ordinary shepherd; he possessed a unique perspective on leadership. The Silent Erosion: One Sheep at a Time Elias knew that if he were to harm his sheep, he could do so subtly—one sheep at a time. A nip here, a graze there, and the flock would hardly notice. Yet, over days and weeks, the impact would accumulate. The herd would dwindle, and the sheep would awaken to their loss only when it was too late. The Community of Trust Elias understood that trust was the bedrock of any community. His sheep relied on him for sustenance, safety, and guidance. They followed him to greener pastures, trusting that he would lead them to food and water. Elias never betrayed that trust. He cared for each sheep, ensuring their well-being. Leadership Lessons from Elias: Transparency: Elias didn’t hide his intentions. He communicated openly with the sheep, ensuring they understood his purpose. Consistency: Day after day, Elias led the flock, never wavering. Consistency breeds trust. Shared Vision: The sheep knew their purpose—to thrive and flourish. Elias aligned their goals with his leadership. Trust is the currency of leadership. Just as Elias led his sheep, we must lead with integrity, empathy, and a shared vision. In our professional lives, let’s be shepherds who guide, protect, and nourish our teams. #Leadership #Trust #Community #Guidance #Teamwork #PicFromFreePik

How’d you like to hold a senior team retreat or a New Leadership Assimilation in a studio barn with a “liquids only” outhouse? ?? When you embody your organizational values, you show up as assertively, even aggressively, authentic to your mission. And your constituency loves you for it—and, in this case, readily donated space for the retreat. Yesterday, the Columbia Land Conservancy https://lnkd.in/ddxFZjBG guided by CEO Troy Weldy along with Heidi Bock, VP of Conservation met to welcome and integrate Anne Marshall, the VP of Finance and Operations into their new senior team. This team is passionately committed to its mission of strengthening community and trust-based relationships, keeping farmers on their land, providing equitable access to and meaningful connection to the land, and sustaining a culture where staff and board thrive, diversity is celebrated, and challenging conversations are embraced. Through introspection, generous listening, and feedback, a safe space was created that included lots of laughter, integrity, insights, and the openness to share strengths, blindspots, needs, and priorities. It was an honor and privilege to be their steward, as they steward the land, people, places, and their community. The CEO noted at the end that it’s like creating a new senior team charter to guide success forward. Curious? Learn more at https://lnkd.in/dsxPdDqA PS: I align with their values and was delighted with the restroom accommodations! #columbialandconservancy #??landtrusts #newleadershipassimilation #emotionalintelligence #leadership #seniorteams #missiondriven
