Founder of Nesslar Associates, 25 years of experience in team building, talent search, hiring, and retaining extraordinary employees. Managed recruitment for growing companies.
What makes a great salesperson? ?? Way back in the late '80s, I found myself in NYC as a button salesperson. Clothing not political. Armed with a suitcase full of buttons, a pocketful of quarters, and a couple of pages ripped out of the Yellow Pages, I spent my days calling designers from payphones along 7th Avenue—without the luxury of hand sanitizer! Can you imagine? I did well fairly quickly and when hiring salespeople now, I interview for some of the qualities that I know made me successful. Here are three often-overlooked qualities that make a great salesperson: Empathy: Understanding and connecting with customers' emotions builds trust and meaningful relationships. Relationship Building: Long-term success comes from trust, integrity, and consistent follow-up. Continuous Learning: Staying updated on industry trends and sales techniques keeps great salespeople ahead of the game. What do you think makes a great salesperson? Share your thoughts below! #Sales #BusinessGrowth

??Hiring Alert?? ?? We’re actively hiring for Account Executives in London at Klaviyo! ?? What positions are available? We have roles across three teams: Entrepreneur, SMB, and Mid-Market. You can join our new business sales team or focus on customer growth, helping existing clients unlock even more value from our platform. ?? What does that mean? Our accounts are divided into three segments—Entrepreneur, SMB, and Mid-Market. In each segment, we have teams focused on acquiring new customers and teams dedicated to growing relationships with existing clients. ?? Do I need to speak a specific language? As we expand our global footprint, we’re looking for German, French, Spanish, and Italian speakers to help localize our sales efforts. ???? ???? ???? ???? ? Which role is right for me? Our job descriptions highlight key differences based on your level of experience. More than just experience, though, we’re looking for a growth mindset, resilience, and the ability to sell based on value. And yes, we’re transparent with salaries—base salary is published, and OTE is double. ?? What’s the sales leadership like? Our sales team is led by Pia Heilmann named The Elites Sales Leader of the Year for 2024, alongside a fantastic group of leaders with deep Klaviyo knowledge and top-notch experience from leading companies: Robert Jones, Tessa McManus, Byron Goodman, Ciara Flaherty (she/her), Sian Taylor, Louise Leitch, Xanthe Pierce, James Buckley, and Miranda Griffin-Adams. ?? What does career growth look like? The future at Klaviyo is incredibly exciting. Over the past 12 months, we’ve promoted 15 AEs, moved 5 Sales Managers up from IC roles, and seen plenty of internal growth. If you hit your trailing 12-month quota, you can move up within your existing role. While many companies are staying cautious, and some are growing at a moderate pace, Klaviyo is in a league of its own… ?? Revenue in Q2 = $222M (up 34% YoY) ?? International growth = 41% YoY ?? 151,000+ paying customers and counting… Drop myself or Andrew Matlock a DM to discuss further (Sorry, no agencies!)

We are hiring a part time sales associate... BUT before you apply, there's some things you need to know. We need the perfect fit, so if you check all these boxes... let's chat! ?? The hours are minimal - roughly 7-15 hours a week except when one of the other ladies is on vacation, so it would be more on those weeks. It would be 1-2 Saturdays a month and one day during the week most of the time. So, flexibility is kind of a big deal. I know, that's so annoying, but it's what we need. ?? Highly dependable and trustworthy. We leave ya all to yourself in the shop and we want you to treat it like it was your business too. That means arriving on time. Staying til close. Taking care of the place if it gets messy. Taking out the trash if it looks out of control. All the usual things. ?? You gotta be willing to model! Ha. I know that's some scary shit, but our customers love to see our clothing on real people and real bodies, so we ask our associates to try on some things to share on our social media. ?? Our customers are our numbero uno A #1 top priority. You gotta be friendly, helpful and help us continue to build relationships with our community and clients. ?? Sense of humor is a must. Our store isn't for the faint of heart or easily offended. ?? Shit, we sound awfully demanding. We know we are looking for a unicorn, but if that's you, message me!

When I was 21 I worked at Harrods. When I was 23 I was a store manager. When I was 26 I got my first B2B job, selling a breast milk analysis instrument for premature babies to UK hospitals. When I was 30 I worked in a nanotech company selling friction reduction methods to the global automotive industry (Hi Lamborghini ??) When I was 32 I wanted to sell submarines. When I was 33 I worked at LinkedIn. When I was 37 I was a Sales Director bringing the strongest material in the world to the market. When I was 39 I became a Sales Director building a unicorn ??, with a remote sales team of 90 people across 22 countries and we were enabling companies to hire anyone, anywhere. When I was 39 I started creating content online (because I needed talent to my team) and built my personal brand on LinkedIn. When I was 40 I decided to bet on myself so I started my own business. My navigation throughout my career has always been my interest to LEARN new things and be CHALLENGED. → This led me to technology companies. I've worked in a lot of different industries, with one thing in common: GO TO MARKET ?? Working with people all over the world. Today this is my competitive advantage when I’m building my own global online business. → WHY am I telling you this? So many people feel LOST today. So many people feel like they have lost their momentum. That it's "too late". I'm telling you: → It’s NEVER too late to change direction. To quit things we don't want to do anymore. To build a life we WANT to live. To wake in the morning and actually feel excited to start the day. → Don’t just do what other people expect out of you - do what YOU want to do. Your experience and your career is your biggest competitive advantage. → Start digging where you stand → Build your personal brand → Design the life you want Because it's NOT too late. Don’t let anyone ever tell you what you can and can not do - it’s often a reflection on them, not you. Run your own race. It's always, always worth it. *** ?? ??The Dog that Says Meow Once upon a time, there was an office with a sign in the window. The sign read: “Help wanted. Must type 70 words a minute. Must be computer literate. Must be bilingual. We are an equal opportunity employer.” One day, a dog strolling down the street noticed the sign, walked into the office, and applied for the job. The office manager, taken aback, said, “I can’t hire a dog for this position.” The dog, undeterred, pointed to the line: “We are an equal opportunity employer.” The manager hesitated but handed the dog a letter and said, “Type this.” To everyone’s surprise, the dog trotted over to the typewriter and returned a minute later with the perfectly typed letter. Impressed, the manager challenged the dog further: “Write a computer program for it and run it.” Fifteen minutes later, the dog returned, having successfully completed the task. Still skeptical, the manager said, “But I can’t hire a dog for this position. You’ve got to be bilingual.” The dog looked up at the manager and confidently replied, “Meow.” Moral Lesson for a Sales Team: Embrace Diversity: As an employer, recognize that talent comes in all shapes and sizes. Anyone can become a highly successful sales rep given the chance. If someone meets all requirements and seeks an opportunity, give them a chance. Be Prepared: As a sales professional, be ready for anything. Strive to be the best in your field. Whether it’s reading sales manuals, attending webinars, or mastering high-pressure sales tactics, go the extra mile to excel. Remember, success often comes from unexpected places. Just like the dog that said “meow,” your team members can surprise you with their abilities when given the opportunity. #Diversity #Motivation

Are Stock Markets Manipulated? "The Silent Hand: Behind the Market’s Illusion" is a story about stock market manipulation; it’s a window into a world where the movements of a few can change the fate of many. It’s a world where vast sums of money, hidden political ties, and the control of information dictate who wins and who loses—often leaving small traders holding the short end of the stick.
