SSbD is a great – but challenging – concept. Looking into all SSbD aspects can be overwhelming. Day 27 of “Future Focus: the Story Behind it”- Happy Friday everyone ?? Today we have ?????????????? ?? “???????????????????????? ????????????????” to round up and the last two speakers for you to meet. There are instances where one instrumental technique is not enough to fully unravel the intricacy of information within our samples. That might be because our investigation is thoroughly comprehensive, so much so that the explored chemical space?will include several different chemical functionalities which cannot be captured by only one technique. Or it might be because it is not only the chemical information we need to collect. For instance, in aroma profiling, combining analytical and sensorial information is fundamental to allowing informed decision-making. Those are the perspectives that will be shared in the second half of the session. Kathy Ridgway will reveal her strategies to blend sensory and analytical information in food analysis. John Langley will unveil how the use of a combination of different hyphenated techniques is critical to allow exhaustive characterisation of sustainable fuel. And this leaves us only one more session to explore together. But that is a conversation for tomorrow.
