Very important gathering taking place in Copenhagen on the same week that the International Maritime Organization ‘s member states discussed in London how to accelerate the green transition in the #shipping industry. #leadership and #dialogue are two main factors to reach consensus around a global marine fuel standard and a pricing mechanism that will bridge the price gap between #fossil and #green fuels. A.P. Moller - Maersk fully supports the green balance instrument suggested by the World Shipping Council, a recycled fee that will place the extra cost of green fuels on fossil fuels and in addition, it will open the door to a #justtransition allowing the creation of a fund for developing countries. M?ller in the quaint town of Svendborg, Denmark. Starting with a single steamship, S.S. Laura, they embarked on a journey that would eventually span the globe. One of the most compelling aspects of Maersk’s history is its early adoption of containerization. During a 4-month sabbatical last summer, I had the opportunity to sail on the Tres Hombres, a unique engine-less cargo ship. It was a month of slowing down, finding inspiration, and discovering another new perspective after walking the Camino to Santiago de Compostela. As I sailed through the Biscay Bay, gazing up at the starry sky at night and spotting whales, I learned all about sailing the ship and how to climb to its extremities (ja ja). From the sea, I saw "Land-life" in a different way and realized the impact of our hectic lives on the planet. As a leader in logistics and supply chain, this experience has ignited my enthusiasm to make a substantial and positive impact on our planet in the years to come. To successfully finalize the DSV - Global Transport and Logistics and DB Schenker merger by 2025, several critical steps remain. First, securing regulatory approvals from Deutsche Bahn AG's Supervisory Board and the German Federal Government is essential. Additionally, all conditions outlined in the sales agreement, including specific commitments to protect jobs, must be met. A thorough due diligence process is also necessary to ensure compliance with all financial and operational requirements. In this video in one of the terminals, a Hapag-Lloyd vessel is carefully berthed behind a Maersk vessel, almost like they’re dancing a Tango together. ?? While securing mooring lines might look simple, it’s actually a critical task. If done incorrectly, the lines can break, causing serious injuries or fatalities.
