Statistically 1 in 5 children in these United States experience hunger daily and do not know where their next meal will come from. As we journey toward Fall and the major Holiday Seasons of Thanksgiving and Christmas, we need your help to keep our shelves overflowing with food and our freezers & refrigerators filled month to month. There are families, children, you may never meet hoping that you will assist us in helping them through this coming holiday season. When the Leaders were out and about, the curious crowds gathered and were hungry. The Leaders thought it was a good to just send the crowds away to find food they couldn’t afford. Reports like this should make us all hang our heads in shame. Some eye-opening statistics: The number of children in residential care in England has?doubled?over the past 12 years. it now stands at over 80,000?children (almost the same amount that is in our prisons) currently in care in England, a number that continues to rise. 70%?of children in care have experienced abuse or neglect. 1 in 10?children in England have a diagnosable mental health condition. Call it what you want but continual cuts to vital services have exacerbated the problem. These are services which can prevent crises before they escalate, offering timely support to families and ensuring children can stay in safe, loving homes. Studies have shown that investing in early intervention can save up to?￡9?for every ￡1 spent by reducing the need for more intensive services later on. Doesn't every child deserves the chance to grow up in a stable, nurturing environment?
