As climate change accelerates, the world is facing more extreme weather, rising sea levels, and other unprecedented environmental challenges. But how do we adapt to these changes? Why isn’t simply reducing carbon emissions enough? And what will adaptation mean for vulnerable regions, businesses, and everyday people? In this episode, David Wortmann from DWR eco sits down with Henry Neufeldt, Head of Impact Assessment and Adaptation Analysis at UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre, to dive into these questions. Together, they break down what #climateadaptation really means, explore its urgency, and discuss the role of adaptation policy. They also look at the adaptation finance gap, which stands at a staggering $194-366 billion per year, and consider how public and private sectors can work together to close it. Following this discussion, Nikolas Samios, Managing Partner of PT1, and Kamil Kluza, Co-Founder & COO of Climate X, join to share how data-driven business solutions are helping organizations adapt. In the episode wrap-up, David and Nikolas highlight the key takeaways, leaving listeners with a clear understanding of why climate adaptation is essential—and how we can start preparing for the future. Tune in to learn about the crucial steps we need to take to adapt to our changing world. Thank you Leon Martini for support with this great analysis! #AdaptationTech #climatemitigation #climateadaptation #climatepolicy #CleanTech Doreen R.

I’ll hold back further comments on the current government crisis in #Germany and the rollback in the U.S. Cynical as it may sound: we need to prepare for #climate #adaptation – not just as a necessity but also as a #business and #investment opportunity (while continuing to prioritize climate protection). To dive into this important topic, we’ve launched a new podcast series [HEAT]. Episode 1 sets the foundation for the conversation. ??? Please share, comment, and subscribe to the podcast! ??

Environmental science and policy must be considered TOGETHER for realistic #climateaction to exist. Here's what I learned from a recent paper I read: The Global North and the Global South have different ideas about what is needed for positive climate progress. The Global North is focused on green technology while the Global South is focused on mitigation. These decisions are based on one primary factor... the #economy! This information is not revolutionary, it just seems something we tend to ignore. The only way to give everyone a chance is to work towards COLLABORATION. We need to look at green #technology and mitigation, not just the one that benefits our respective economies. The "climate economy" doesn't care who we are. It will not wait for us. We are so close to the 2 degrees C tipping point with little way for recovery. It's supposed to be scary. But to quote legendary global climate leader Christiana Figueres, "impossible is not a fact, it is an attitude." We CAN DO the impossible ?? You in? Kindness Always ????
