Our COO and CTO, Douglas Stoakley and Christopher Idelson, had the privilege of attending the 2024 World Medical Innovation Forum, hosted by Mass General Brigham and Bank of America. The forum highlighted key topics and areas of innovation driving the future of healthcare, and the sessions offered a wealth of insights. Doug and Chris thought one of the most interesting panels focused on the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), hosted by Susan Coller Monarez, which showcased how ARPA-H is forging new pathways by funding moonshot ideas for unmet needs impacting underserved populations. Panelists Kimberley E. Steele, MD, PhD, Glen Coppersmith, Jessica Green, and Jason R. provided invaluable perspectives on these efforts and their repsective programs (check those programs out!). Renee Wegrzyn also provided her insight into how ARPA-H is truly changing the game - leveraging the existing 3 ARPA-H Hubs, and strong partnerships, with ecosystem players all over the globe. The future of US healthcare innovation is shaping up to get very interesting, very quickly! All around, incredibly informative and very exciting to hear about the successes to-date and what lies ahead! A special thanks to Lyda Hill Philanthropies for turning ClearCam Inc. onto this event and supporting us to get out there! #HealthcareInnovation #ARPAH #ClearCam #WorldMedicalInnovationForum #DrivingChange

The emphasis on patient-centricity has increased potential synergies between life sciences companies and patient organizations—a dynamic that the Institute analyzed in last year’s report, Supporting patients through research collaboration: Interactions between patient organizations and life sciences companies. On April 25, 2024, the Institute shared some of these insights in a webinar, Patient Organization Research Collaborations. This insight brief captures key highlights from the presentation — including a high-level framework for forging more effective collaborations. DREAM BIG - healthier people and healthier communities in a sustainable environment. ? It requires new and different collaboration models with aligned incentives across traditional and non-traditional stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem, willingness to change and innovate, and a joint commitment towards the big dream...this is exactly what "Clinical Research as a Care Option" is about. ? Thanks so much Janice Chang, Christoph Koenen and Katherine Taylor for inviting me to join this thought-provoking and inspiring panel discussion "The Next Horizon of Clinical Research: Integrating Research into the Care Continuum” at #SCOPEsummit. ? The best way to predict the future is to create it - jointly together. #TransCelerate #ClinicalResearch #ClinicalCare #CRAACO #PatientsFirst

Today, Highlander Health Co-founder Amy Abernethy took the stage at HLTH Inc. in Las Vegas with Joaquin Duato, Johnson & Johnson Chairman & CEO. They discussed their shared passion about utilizing science and technology to solve some of the biggest health care challenges of our time. During the fireside chat they discussed lots of topics, including how curing cancer is considered the ultimate health moonshot. Both agreed that getting treatments approved isn’t enough – we also need them to be widely adopted. They also touched on cardiology and the crucial role technology plays in all phases of health care. The siloed approach of healthcare is not sustainable, and data needs to be easily shared across drug development, med tech and digital health. Amy shared more about Highlander Health’s partnerships to simplify clinical trials and innovate the potential of real-world data. “We want to understand what approaches work across settings, coalesce stakeholders, and embrace the evolution happening in the market right now,” she said. The pair dove into leadership roles as well and the exciting future ahead for health care if we dare to be bold. Thanks for having us #HLTH24

Great initiative! The synergy between patient participation in research and the tremendous scientific & medical progress we experience today underscores the critical role of patient engagement in shaping the future of healthcare.
I have just returned from #SCOPEsummit where I had the privilege of contributing to a panel discussion titled "The Next Horizon of Clinical Research: Integrating Research into the Care Continuum” brilliantly facilitated by Katherine Taylor. It was a true pleasure joining Uli Broedl and Janice Chang in a conversation about opportunities and barriers to giving patients access to clinical research as part of their overall healthcare journey. As we continue to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of clinical research, I believe we need to shift our focus to an even more patient-centered approach that puts the needs of patients first. I am committed to championing this shift because patient engagement is an integral aspect of successful clinical trials. The summit emphasized the critical need for collaboration, innovation, and strategic decision-making in this area and provided an excellent platform for networking and meaningful discussions. #Healthforallhungerfornone #teambayer ?

?? #CNSSummit2024 - I’M BACK! Not everyone knows, but SEQSTER’s journey is closely tied to the CNS Summit. Huge thanks to my friend and CNS Summit Chairman & Founder, AMIR KALALI, MD, who believed in SEQSTER early on and helped us secure our first seed funding. In 2017, Amir invited me to share our dream of putting patients at the center—connecting them and researchers with their complete health data. A year later, in 2018, we made health data history by demonstrating SEQSTER's power to unify health records from four different health systems, #DNA data, and remote patient monitoring—all seamlessly integrated into a single longitudinal record with none other than the famous Eric Topol, MD who tweeted it out to his followers. Dr. Topol’s #healthdata from 1985 to the present showcased the future of connected health and that’s when #SEQSTER truly found its place on the map. The CNS community embraced us, except for one voice who challenged our mission, sparking a fire that only strengthened my resolve. That moment proved we had something game-changing. True innovation initially can be viewed with a lot of skepticism, especially when it is solving a monumental problem like data interoperability. Years later, we’re impacting lives at scale and partnering with the top companies in life sciences. It is with this shared history in mind that I’m so proud to be returning to where we came out of stealth and reconnecting with our CNS family—let’s keep pushing boundaries! Looking forward to seeing everyone in #Boston next week. #DigitalHealth #ClinicalTrials #PatientCentric #Interoperability #Innovation #Relentless
