One of the many projects I was tasked with recently over the past year or so at City of High Point?is assisting with setting up a broadcast studio and preparing the City Of High Point Council Chamber and meeting room for live video broadcasting by working with vendors and overseeing the process to completion. Fun fact! Originally in 2020 when the pandemic hit and folks were limited in public spaces it allowed the city to get the word out to the public via live stream (audio only originally), Eric Xavier?was very helpful in the original days when we started streaming we had two laptops and a switcher to go between Microsoft teams and zoom. Fun fact this will be the first time in the city’s history since 1859 that the City of High Point will have video broadcasts of their council meetings /?public meetings ?? starting in 2025. Happy to have been a part of this project with the help of our IT department for networking and support if needed, ClarkPowell?( a huge shout out to Warren Baker he’s a genius ) Strategic Connections, Inc., , Jennifer Brooks for working together during her broadcasting for Guilford County Schools , marketing manager Ryan Ferguson?for allowing me to oversee this project, and Jeron Hollis, MPA we made it possible and the original home team Noelle Miller and Rokeya Worthy for learning this wild broadcasting world on this bumpy road lol the team is still growing! This is important for the public to have the ability to view and participate in public meetings taking place in their city especially in today’s modern age. There will also be an app for iOS / android and TV but that’s for another day ??.
