STOP cold pitching on LinkedIn Not just because it’s annoying (which it is) Not just because it barely works (less effective every month) Not just because it makes you seem desperate and needy (inspires ZERO confidence in your prospects) But because LinkedIn ITSELF is actually noticing these messages and flagging them as “potentially harmful or unwanted content.” That’s right. Cold pitches (especially the copy-paste garbage most people are sending) are getting filtered out by the software and slapped with a content warning. Is this what you want your prospects to see when they open up your chat window? P.S. This also counts for all of you sending "personalized" InMails aka copy and paste 25 at a time.
While I don’t think they’ll ever filter InMails - this does remind me of a thread I saw earlier today on LinkedIns new sorting style: https://twitter.com/bowtiedsystems/status/1597968934581379073?s=46&t=zPcvKxJd_B2CtYg2yyHOiw
thank goodness! even as a sales person, I get sick of getting messages like that from recruiters/other sales people that I haven't ever engaged with...I almost automatically block lol
I'm glad my messages stand out and I get great replies. You have to be genuine and personal and not give them your pitch right off the bat is what I've learned over the past 7 years of doing recruiting. I get tons of pitches from places that are all generic and can tell that it's automated.
Best way to sell on linkedin is to follow someone content, give them some ?? 's and learn what they do.
I hate this too.
The old fashion connect and pitch. It screams scarcity and desperation
Clark Willcox, you mentioned that "good messages stand out" in a reply on this thread. What would you categorize as a "good message" on LI when it comes to recruiting - not BD.
I agree...Just curious how your approach is different?
Ever since I have been on Linkedin these are the only messages I get.

1 年I agree with most of what you say but I have to disagree with this one. I have tried everything, cold calling on the phone, and emailing, I find what works best is a message on LinkedIn along with a text message. Maybe it's just my industry but LinkedIn seems to be what produces the best results, almost all of my placements started with a LinkedIn message.
