To kick off the week, we want to congratulate Yuka Saso on her second U.S. Women's Open Title victory this weekend, hosted here in Lancaster, PA! As a corporate sponsor, we invited some of our partners to attend as a great way to connect and enjoy the beauty of our hometown throughout the practice rounds and tournament play. Thank you to those who attended, and a special "Thanks" to the United States Golf Association (USGA) & Lancaster Country Club for hosting such a terrific event!

Pop Culture Friday! Yeah boyeeeeee! That's what I'm talking about! Flavor Flav, co-founder of the hip hops group Public Enemy, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, and "girl dad" is famously now the sponsor of the US women's water polo team. He's had a ton of ups and downs, and with the support of his network, made pivots to earn a living being a hype man for different projects. Supporting the water polo team is another example of him leveraging his profile and talents. When asked why he wore a clock: "The reason why I wear this clock is because, you know, time is the most important element, and when we stop, time keeps going." Seeing his joy now, he is enjoying living in the moment. I'm looking forward to seeing his next pivot. Use the DANO method to make your pivots and create a sustainable career. #career #olympics #pivot #waterpolo #flavorflav #publicenemy #networking
In May, US polo team captain Maggie Steffens asked for financial help on Instagram. Flavor Flav – William Jonathan Drayton Jr – answered the call: “As a girl dad and supporter of all women’s sports, imma personally sponsor you, my girl, whatever you need. And imma sponsor the whole team.” Flav signed a five-year sponsorship deal to “elevate the visibility and excitement surrounding water polo in the United States.” The sponsorship includes personal appearances and financial contributions to help with equipment, facilities, and anything else they need. This is how it’s done ??

In today's post we talk about a unique form of MCO under Michelle Kang. Michelle Kang recently took ownership of London City Lionesses, a club in the Women's Championship which was formed after the existing women's team split from Millwall Football Club. The club recently signed Kosovare Asllani, captain of the?Sweden?national side, which was described as "a statement of intent that will have raised eyebrows around the global women's game". Kang also owns 35% of Washington Spirit, a club in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and is the majority owner (52%) of OL Féminin. The MCO structure is unique and interesting as two of the clubs only ply their trade in women's football leagues without being affiliated to an entity running a men's team. This is something of interest to Mercury/13 as well, as they try to build a MCO structure comprised only of women's football clubs. The ownership group is made up of some well known names such as Eniola Aluko MBE, Luis Vicente, Michael Broughton and Ebru Koksal, CFA. It will be interesting to investigate the financial sustainability of a club for whom women's football is only business as compared to clubs who run football teams for both men and women. #MCO #MultiClubOwnership #SportBiz #SportBusiness #SportFinance

What does it take to get the national agency for sport, three sports governing bodies, universities and academic leaders, a national health service, a government and a concerned parent together? A topic as important as concussion in sport! Whilst organisations can lend a helping hand and provide much valued resources, it takes people to drive and innovate. Scotland has led for the past 9 years in developing one set of guidelines for all who are active and enjoy sport. If In Doubt Sit Them Out has now been adopted across the whole of the UK and with our Australian and Kiwi cousins. Today’s launch of the third iteration of the guidelines sees an improvement how we should recognise and remove anyone suspected of a concussion, how the brain of a child or an adult should be respected in the same way with rest, recuperation, rehabilitation and return to normal life and sport, how we should be more aware of the impact on women and girls as well as those of us who enjoy sport and live with a disability. Read about it, learn and tell others know about it. Collaboration is key ?? #IfInDoubtSitThemOut | The Scottish Sports Concussion Guidance has been updated, with key changes reflecting the latest research advances in sports concussion. The new guidance, published today, details the recommended stages in managing concussion in grassroots sports, from awareness of possible concussion symptoms through to the graduated return to sport. The team of experts behind the guidelines includes representatives from The Scottish Government, Scottish Rugby, Scottish Football Association, The University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow, University of Stirling and the sportscotland institute of sport. Head of Sports Medicine at the sportscotland institute of sport, Dr Niall Elliott, said: “Our understanding of concussion continues to evolve. The latest guidance reflects the most recent advances in the area and is a significant landmark of the work being done in Scotland to raise awareness of the serious issue of concussion in sport.” Find out more: https://lnkd.in/e_d8Rpwv

The Superbike Ladies League stands as a paragon of global sportsmanship and unity, driven by a statute that is as dynamic as the races it governs. This document is not merely a set of rules; it's the lifeblood of an association that champions the prowess of women on the superbike racing stage. Within its pages, the General Assembly emerges as the democratic pillar, where members' voices fuel the league's direction. The elected Board of Directors navigates with a vision that transcends borders, embodying the league's multinational ethos and commitment to excellence. Voting procedures reflect the league's inclusive spirit, ensuring every member, present or by proxy, shapes its future. Extraordinary Assemblies pivot with agility, addressing urgent matters with the same fervor as the races themselves. Minutes from each assembly are meticulously recorded, a testament to the league's transparency and dedication to history. The Internal Regulations, approved by the assembly, are the operational gears that keep the league's heart beating strong. The Superbike Ladies League's statute is a declaration of its global mission, a commitment to integrity, and a celebration of the indomitable spirit of women racers. It's a spectacle of governance that matches the thrill of the track—where strategy, speed, and solidarity ride in unison towards victory. ???????

Black History is more than a month?? It’s an ongoing commitment, a call to action to learn and do more. We are proud to announce our partnership with eight leading sports organisations for a new research project to better understand the unique needs and experiences of Black British girls in sport. Our previous research has shown a startling disconnect - despite having the most positive attitudes enthusiasm and confidence toward sport among all ethnic groups, only 35% of Black British girls meet recommended activity levels. This disparity speaks to a gap in opportunity, resources, and support that we are determined to address. The findings from this study will be used to drive meaningful change across the sports sector to tackle the inequalities in sport and physical activity for Black British teenage girls. This work is being supported by British Cycling, British Rowing, England and Great Britain Hockey, England Netball, England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB), the Football Association, the Lawn Tennis Association and England Rugby Read more about the research here: https://lnkd.in/e-Thzwr4 #BlackHistoryMonth #BHM2024 #BHM
