Today, we want to recognize Vanessa for her heartfelt initiative. She approached Mayor Faron Young with a beautiful idea—to place a yellow bench in the city as a space for reflection and remembrance for those whose lives were impacted by COVID-19. This meaningful tribute is now located at Veterans Park, where Mayor Faron Young, Mayor Pro Tem Amber Munoz, and councilmembers Alan Price, Gregg Geesa, Paul Moore, and William Wright gathered to memorialize the bench. It serves as a beacon of hope, healing, and connection for our community. "The yellow bench at Veterans Park is a place where we can pause, reflect, and honor the memory of those we’ve lost or were impacted by COVID-19, said Mayor Faron Young. "It serves as a reminder of the deep impact this pandemic has had on our families and our community while offering a space for healing and remembrance for all who visit.
