Appearing in court can be a stressful experience, but Court Administrator Diane and her staff work hard to relieve a lot of that stress for our residents. I think when people come in, they're usually not happy about being there. So, we try to make it, a nice environment to come in, handle your business. We try to be as friendly, give you as much information so that you don't leave feeling like you don't know what just happened. The City of Saint Peters handles municipal cases heard before Judge Kohl. There???s no jury. A judge, you would come in front of the judge. We handle a lot of traffic cases. Fail to register. No proof of insurance. Speeding. We also handle a lot of ordinance. Diane advises everyone that if you are to appear in court, show up and be prepared. I think any court appearance you have, you need to take seriously. As long as you show up, the judge will work with you. It's when you don't show up when there starts to be a problem. Diane and her staff are on hand to help make this a less stressful experience for everyone. They are very welcoming when you come to the window. They try to do as much as possible.
