Councilmember Christina Drummond announced Tuesday, Feb. 18, that she will resign her seat. City Council accepted the resignation, effective immediately. Drummond has been a Council member since fall of 2021. In her resignation letter, Drummond said she wants to focus on her family's health. Drummond also cited the progress that had been made during her time on City Council. "I'm particularly proud to have supported the City's forward-looking investments to improve our road and path networks, to modernize our website and technology infrastructure, and to acquire the Bennett Farm for future generations to enjoy as a park. I look forward to celebrating the installation of Powell's first tornado sirens this spring." City Manager Andy White ICMA-CM thanked Drummond for her dedication and service to the City. "Christina has made a positive impact on the Powell community during her time on City Council. She served as the chair of the Operations Committee, is a member of the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Committee's (MORPC) Regional Data Advisory Council (RDAC), and was focused on important initiatives involving regional collaboration, transportation, economic development, and trail connectivity," said White. This announcement leaves a vacant seat on Powell City Council. Information on how the City will fill the position will be published soon.
