In light of the recent hurricane that has impacted Florida, I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to all those affected by this devastating event. As we witness the challenges faced by our friends and communities in Florida, it’s a reminder of the resilience we can show when we come together. If you’re looking for ways to help, consider donating to local relief efforts or volunteering your time. Here are some specific safety tips to keep in mind during recovery: 1. Stay Informed: Keep updated with local news for critical information and resources. The [National Hurricane Center](https://www.nhc.noaa.gov) is a great resource for tracking storms and safety updates. 2. Assess Damage Cautiously: If you're returning home, do a thorough inspection for structural damage before entering. Watch out for hazards like gas leaks and downed power lines. 3. Avoid Floodwaters: Even after the storm has passed, stay clear of standing water, which can be deeper than it appears and may contain contaminants. 4. Support Local Businesses: As the recovery begins, consider shopping local to help the community bounce back. To our friends in Florida, you are in our thoughts, and we’re here to support you in any way we can. Let’s unite to help our communities heal and rebuild. #HurricaneRecovery #SupportFlorida #CommunityStrong #SafetyFirst

Another hurricane hit Florida this week. The storm impacted millions of people and brought damaging winds, storm surges, heavy rain and tornadoes. It was a devastating event for many Floridians, and my heart goes out to everyone affected. If you're able, consider donating to one of the many great charities supporting the recovery. Every bit helps as we work to rebuild. This very unfortunate event brings to mind the mantra we at DMS started back in 2020, during the early days of the pandemic. Protect Yourself Protect Your Family Protect The Business What do they tell you to do on an airplane when the masks come down in an emergency? Put your mask on first. Then, help others. Well, in situations like the one we just endured, looking after yourself and your family should come first because when you do that, it puts you in a great position to help others. Protect Yourself Protect Your Family Protect The Business On the business side, this is exactly why strong, connected teams matter. This past week, I saw the very best of our DMS team as everyone stepped up for their teammates facing mandatory evacuations, power outages and other challenges from Hurricane Milton. The team's commitment truly shined through, ensuring that those in need had the support they needed and that there was little for them to worry about at work. In times like these, it's clear how much we rely on each other personally and professionally. Together, we’ll continue supporting one another and staying connected through good and bad weather.

An important message from my client GoodrCo. With a death toll exceeding 130 and devastation sweeping across five states, Hurricane Helene has left countless families without the basic essentials needed to rebuild their lives. Millions are still without power, internet, clean water, or access to food, and in some of the hardest-hit areas, aid is being delivered by any means necessary. At Goodr, we've been committed to disaster relief since 2017, when we first sent an 18-wheeler full of aid to Houston for Hurricane Harvey. Now, with Hurricane Helene striking so close to home, we need your support more than ever. We’ve secured a warehouse and set an ambitious goal: fill four trucks with essentials like water, non-perishable food, household cleaning products, and baby supplies, and get them on the road to Augusta, Brunswick, Valdosta, and Asheville in the next week. I believe in showing up for others the way we’d want them to show up for us if we were in need. This is one of those moments. If you can’t bring donations directly to our warehouse, you can still help by scheduling an in-store pick up of your donation from Kroger, Publix, or Target in the 30349 zip code. Every bit counts. If your organization would like to host a collection, we’d be more than happy to coordinate pickup—just email us at [email protected]. Let’s come together and make a real difference for our neighbors in need. Our first stop is Augusta, GA—let's get these trucks rolling! #reliefdrive #disasterrelief #hurricanehelene #neighborsinneed #givingback #donate #fundraiser #neighborshelpingneighbors #showingup #bootsontheground
