Technology is changing the world at such a pace right now - and the infrastructure world must react. It's fascinating to see where P3s are fitting into this revolution.

Did you know.....that EVs are actually LESS likely to catch on fire compared to traditional (or ICE) vehicles? Despite the noise in the media, various surveys concluded that EVs represent FAR LESS of the overall vehicle fires reported. Per BILLION MILES driven, there were 55 ICE vehicle fires compared to just 5 EV fires. And EVs exhibited 61 TIMES FEWER fires per 100,000 sales than ICE vehicles. All of that is backed up but the City of Phoenix Assistant Fire Chief Tim Kreis. It was awesome to learn about how proactive and forward thinking Tim’s team and the City of Phoenix has been with these new trends. In fact, that hoverboard or scooter sitting in your garage is more likely to catch on fire than your neighbors EV ???? Rural broadband is both a personal and professional passion in the Mefford home. As we enter the four year mark from the beginning of The Shutdown, I can't help but think of this video (https://lnkd.in/eQVGpFPP) that captured the actual day that our local electric and telephone cooperatives connected our farm with a gigabit connection to the internet. Personally, as I note in the video, this was a game changer for our family that allowed us to carry on collectively with relative ease with access to resources that necessarily migrated online. Professionally, it was a moment of joy and imagining: joy in seeing a creative partnership between two distinct cooperatives to create a business relationship that most efficiently delivered services members desperately needed; and imagining in the sense that it was clear this would become a model for our national broadband expansion where rural coops could fill an infrastructure need that is (still) widespread. Our gratitude remains for Warren Rural Electric Co and NORTH CENTRAL TELEPHONE COOPERATIVE for stepping into this gap. And also for Warren County KY Government for providing the local support and some timely funding to accelerate the project county-wide. Over the next couple years, may other #coops become an even bigger part of the national #broadband solution. Mr. Manuel Ojeda, founder and CTO of Morcom was interviewed during the 2024 Safer Buildings Coalition Wireless Tech & Policy Summit that took place in Washington D.C. last June. Mr. Ojeda spoke about the two different types of criteria used to design Cellular vs. Public Safety Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). He explained how every project presents its own challenges, like for example when dealing with historical buildings Like the Robert F. Kennedy building. The Robert F. Kennedy Department of Justice Building, also called "Main Justice", is the headquarters of the United States Department of Justice. It houses Department of Justice offices, including the office of the United States Attorney General. The building was completed in 1935. The building retains its original facades,?lobbies,?corridors,?library, Great Hall, executive suites, and private offices, including the extensive use of ornamental aluminum.
