Last Thursday, the Urban League of Broward County proudly unveiled the Rooted Art Gallery, presented by the Community Foundation of Broward. This inspiring showcase celebrated the incredible creativity of 40 talented local artists, on view in collaboration with the Foundation’s 40-for-40 Initiative. The evening was filled with unforgettable moments, including a powerful live Wax Museum performance, The Legacy Lives On, by our Urban League students, who vividly portrayed historical figures and their lasting impact. Guests were captivated by dynamic dance performances from our youth, as well as insightful remarks from Cassandra Burrell of the Community Foundation of Broward and esteemed curator Jean-Jacques Stephen Alexis. Adding to the historic significance of the night, we proudly introduced the Urban League Time Capsule, a milestone moment commemorating 50 years of impact.
