I recently read an insightful letter from our Chief of Space Operations discussing the Space Force's goals and challenges for 2025. Here are the key points: ? Congress Values Our Role: Our lawmakers understand how vital spacepower is for national security. Every dollar spent on space yields great returns and enhances our defense capabilities. ? Ongoing Progress: While we've made significant strides, there's still work to be done in defending our space domain and supporting the Joint Force. We must keep innovating and training to stay ahead despite resource constraints. ? Modernization is Key: Transforming our capabilities to meet future challenges requires new approaches and constant improvement. Every Guardian plays a crucial role in this mission. This letter reminds us of our important mission and the collective effort needed to maintain our edge. Today the National Security Space Association (NSSA) has issued an opinion piece authored by Mike Tierney, Chief of Legislative Affairs, and Chris Williams, Chair of the?Moorman Center for Space Studies,?highlighting concerns regarding the President’s budget request for Fiscal Year 2025 and its implications for the United States Space Force. The authors warn that the FY25 budget request marks the first-ever decline in funding for the United States Space Force, despite growing threats from adversaries like China and Russia.
