Circet USA’s Veteran’s Tribute initiative pays homage to employees who currently serve, have served, or have family members in the military, past or present. This month, we feature Sr. Operations Manager, NEA accounts, Jimmy DeVita. Jimmy served as a U.S Navy Petty Officer third class / E4. His specialty was as an MM/Machinist Mate. He worked in one of two nuclear power plants aboard the U.S.S Nimitz. One of his many duties while at sea was operating desalination plants. Four of these plants produced around 400,00 gallons of potable water per day. When asked why he joined the Navy, Jimmy said, “I come from a family of prior military and wanted to follow the footsteps of my father and grandfather. My first duty station was Bremerton, Washington, which was also the first duty station of my late Grandfather’s. It was an honor knowing we both spent time on the same shipyard so many years apart.” Jimmy said that integrity, teamwork, and attention to detail were drilled into their heads every day. Those soft skills are used daily in his current position with Circet USA. When we asked Jimmy was the most rewarding part of his time in the service was, he told us, “Completing a 6-month around the world cruise in 1998. Starting in Bremerton and ending up in Newport News, Virginia. We took the Nimitz into Dry-Dock and performed the first ever nuclear refueling on a US vessel.” On behalf of everyone at Circet USA, we would like to thank Jimmy for his service! ********* The mission of Circet USA VetNet is to embrace our proud community of employee veterans who support and encourage each other through shared experiences, veteran recruitment, career development, outward engagement, professional growth, and retention. Bringing together unique backgrounds of military service members, we seek to harness these strengths to better serve our company, community, and clients. #CircetUSA #WeAreCircetUSA #veterans #military #veteran #army #navy #marines #airforce #telecommunications #data #telecom #technology #internet #wifi #network #telecoms #wireless #broadband #telecommunication

Are there women Navy Nukes? Abso-freaking-lutely. YES! Women are Navy Nukes. They work side by side with their male counterparts. I was honored to serve on a submarine with female officers, part of the first operational boats to go out with women aboard. Since then, policies have expanded, especially in the submarine community. Women have long been a vital part of the Navy’s nuclear program on aircraft carriers, contributing as both enlisted personnel and officers. This is not a 100% male-dominated environment. The trades industry is increasingly seeing more women enter and succeed, and the Navy is producing incredible technical talent from both genders. Women are crushing it. ?????? #WomenInSTEM #NavyNukes #Veterans #WomenInTheMilitary #NuclearPower #DiversityInTech #MilitaryTalent #Highr1

We talk a LOT about Navy Nukes without addressing what a Navy Nuke even is, so we figured it was time to fix that! A 'Navy Nuke' is a term used to refer to sailors who undergo rigorous training to operate nuclear propulsion systems on naval ships like aircraft carriers and submarines. Being called a Navy Nuke is a testament to completing one of the most academically challenging training programs in the United States military. What would you like to know about Navy Nukes? Let us know in the comments, and we'll be happy to answer! #highr1 #navynuke #navynuclear #usanavy #navy #veterancompany #veteranjobs #veteranoutreach

The US Navy's aircraft carrier fleet is facing significant challenges, despite having 11 nuclear-powered carriers. High costs, lengthy construction times, and a strained supply chain make building more carriers difficult. The Navy's recruiting struggles and maintenance demands leave only half of the fleet fully operational at any given time. Additionally, workforce and material shortages compound these issues. Even as the Ford-class carriers replace the aging Nimitz-class, the U.S. Navy is stretched thin, unable to easily expand its fleet or meet new crises. The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) has remained in the Middle East engaging the Houthi rebels in Yemen, while the first-in-class USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) saw its deployment to the Mediterranean extended twice. The latter carrier is now undergoing maintenance, further reducing the available fleet. The U.S. Navy cannot afford to lose such high-value targets in a war, but it also cannot afford to build more carriers due to the exorbitant costs and lack of workforce and facilities. This leaves the Navy's aircraft carrier fleet "spread too thin" to effectively respond to global crises. #USNavy #AircraftCarriers #MilitaryReadiness #DefenseIndustry #SupplyChainChallenges
