?? very good discussion this morning at AmChamEU, deep diving into key points of the #CSRD, as well as challenges and opportunities of integrating diversity and inclusion into organisations’ sustainability reporting. A good balance of detail-focused explanation of the regulatory framework and its evolution, and hands-on and concrete examples of challenges, opportunities and actions faced and driven by the business. ?? Just reiterating some of key points raised that keep coming up in these exchanges: ??many companies have been primarily focusing thus far, and are therefore more advanced at, measuring and reporting on the environmental aspects of the ESG -> they find it more complex and challenging, often for very valid reasons such as privacy issues, to monitor, measure and report on the social pillar, which includes diversity, BUT ??it will be difficult for any organisation to claim in their materiality assessment that their own workforce is not a relevant aspect for them to report on -> let’s remember when we talk about DEI, we talk about human beings and human capital: the basis and core source of businesses’ resilience, innovation, existence often. ??it’s crucial to ensure there are no diverse and contradictory multiple reporting standards / frameworks across EU-27 -> #CSRD was supposed to be the “one and only” framework ??for many companies the key driver to actually do something and act on #DEI is the financial component and changes in the broader ecosystem -> it’s not just about reporting obligations you face directly as a company, the whole ecosystem is changing and has power to shift behaviours (e.g. big companies asking suppliers to provide data so they can report on the whole value chain) ?? thanks to the excellent speakers: Annlore Defossez Kate Frisby Giulia Faedo Markus Pretzl Rebekah Smith ????
