I found my first ever 30/60/90 plan yesterday from back when I just started applying to med device jobs. I was shocked at how vague and low effort it was. I wasn’t taught this in college and didn’t have a mentor, so I just winged it and took it lightly. Mistake! Here’s what it was verbatim: 30 days- committing myself and free time to fully grasping anatomy, the line of products offered, and each surgical technique associated with said products. ?60 days- build lasting relationships and a strong reputation in the hospitals I call on while covering cases. ?90 days- stay in front of doctors using competitive products to get to know them, find pain points in current products they are using, show them how our products can solve those issues, and sell new products. If yours looks like this, you have A LOT of work to do, and you may either look unprepared, lacking effort, or just like everyone else. The best way to create a detailed and impactful 30/60/90 is to reach out to current reps and ask what they’d do if they could go back to their first 90 days. Or, ask a manager from another region what their top reps do in their first 90 days. Add your own spice to it, and practice confidently presenting it. Looking back at this, knowing what I know now, I can spend 10 min and make it 10x better just by having some experience. So don’t miss out and asking people. Good luck!

https://lnkd.in/emzVrqW3 We have Hollywood, Bollywood and Devicewood. All making movies, that are fantasy not real life, it only happens in the movies. Is there such a thing as parametric release for medical devices based on the previous lot? Is the need for medical device clinical trials a thing of movies? A concept of past. The lobbying industry has managed to skew the definition of serious. CDRH has been worse than CDER for years but has hidden in plain site of accountability. A former director with direct ties to industry, a slow creep of third party review, and poor field inspection numbers. All signs this movie studio is nothing but a B movie factory. The only academy winner, Mr. Risk that continues to deliver top performance for the consumers.

So, here I am, after a 50 hour work week, preparing for weekend commissioning. When you buy your TrueBeam, don't be like me. Hire Radiotherapy Solutions and have Brice Hamilton commission your linac. As a former Varian Commissioner, I know you can trust him and you can't trust Varian or CTSI. Pros: - He has commissioned over 200 machines. I haven't. - He already has all the right tools. You will need to purchase them. - He has commissioned so many machines, he knows what will go wrong on the project. - He has worlds of experience with MPPG5a. As a clinical physicist, I do not. Cons: - Clinic life does not stop because you have a commissioning project - I have to figure out how to scan and do a Special Physics Consult for a patient who starts Monday...

Breathe - 8 initial plan checks - 6 weekly chart checks - 4 end of treatment chart checks - 3 SBRT cases - 1 SRS case - Finish monthly QA paperwork - Send another clinic prior DICOM records - Call pacemaker manufacturer to ask about remote interrogation - Complete clinical trial data upload - 7 unplanned mini-fires Take a moment. Breathe. Not everything needs to be done today. Triage appropriately. Figure out what’s urgent AND important. Start there. Patient care takes precedence. Any plans starting this morning that need to be checked? Urgent, but unimportant? Maybe it just doesn’t get done. Non-urgent, but important? Don’t take these for granted. The non-urgent but important tasks (e.g., creating and updating policies and procedures) are often the backbone of a well-run clinic. Non-urgent AND unimportant? Probably shouldn’t be on your radar. Breathe. You’ve got this. #MedicalPhysics #MedicalPhysicist #ArtOfMedicalPhysics

“Being on the other side of it as a family member of a patient gave me a whole new perspective of what we do here at Intuitive. My belief in what we do for surgeons and patients has been invigorated.” Like Sascha Gerber, a clinical sales manager, so many of us know someone whose life has been changed by da Vinci. It's why working here is so much more than a job: it's a chance to impact people's lives, and move healthcare forward. Watch Sascha share his da Vinci story. #WeAreIntuitive
