“We recognize that workforce limitations are not just a constraint on our business model but on the health of our populations in the entire region,” said Sally Kraft, MD, MPH, vice president of population health at Dartmouth Health. “We must invest in economic opportunity through workforce to achieve health equity across the region.” The health system deployed initiatives around skill development, community engagement, and external barriers to address these issues and enhance its region’s workforce. “These interconnected issues won’t be solved by any one intervention. You have to start by doing something to begin chipping away at it,” said Carolyn Isabelle, system vice president of talent acquisition and career development. “It’s going to be the cumulative effect of a whole bunch of different interventions and strategies and investments that will help us change the current dynamic.” Learn about their 8 diverse interventions: https://lnkd.in/eJuVhwPf

A person can only provide optimal care for others when they’re properly taking care of themselves. For caregivers in children’s hospitals, that’s more important now than ever. That's why Children's Health created RISE (Resilience, Integrated Ethics, Staff Support and Engagement), a multi-pronged approach to meet their staffs' physical, psychological, and emotional needs. To become a pediatric nurse requires additional training to provide quality care for preemies, children, and even young adults. During #PediatricNursesWeek, we want to highlight the importance of pediatric nurses including current nurses, new nurses, and teaching nurses joining the health care pipeline. Children’s hospitals’ ability to continue to meet children’s health care needs now and into the future requires innovative approaches to recruit, retain and bolster our current pediatric non-physician workforce, including nurses. Happy Pediatric Nurses Week!! From holding tiny hands to providing expert care, pediatric nurses are there every step of the way. Not only do they provide specialized care, but they also bring comfort, hope, and joy to the children and families they serve. This week, join us in sharing gratitude for these special health care heroes. ?? This photo submitted to our Photo Collection features Amy and Courtney. 23 years ago, Amy took care of Courtney when she was in the NICU. Today, they're working together in the NICU at John R. Oishei Children's Hospital.

Continual improvement seeker with old school belief that better healthcare outcomes come from strengthening trusted relationships.
1 天前I would encourage Children’s Hospitals to integrate and/or develop rural primary care for kids. ?So many opportunities not to just treat but prevent the need for specialty care and hospitalization.?
