?????? Remembering the American Civil War: Honoring Sacrifice and Struggle ?????? The American Civil War, a defining chapter in the history of the United States, was a period of profound conflict and transformation. Lasting from 1861 to 1865, this bloody and divisive conflict pitted the Northern states, known as the Union, against the Southern states, known as the Confederacy, over issues of slavery, states' rights, and the future of the nation. Despite the immense human cost and the deep scars left by the war, it ultimately paved the way for profound social and political change. The abolition of slavery, the preservation of the Union, and the expansion of civil rights for all Americans are among its enduring legacies. As we reflect on the American Civil War, let us honor the courage and resilience of those who fought and died on both sides. Let us also reaffirm our commitment to building a more just, inclusive, and united nation, where the lessons of the past guide us toward a brighter future. #AmericanCivilWar #RememberingThePast #BuildingABetterFuture ?????? https://bit.ly/3T1ZuCk

As a former Army medic, reflecting on September 11, 2001, brings back vivid memories of how deeply it shaped not only the military but also the nation as a whole. The attacks marked a turning point, sparking the War on Terror, leading to deployments that forever altered the trajectory of so many lives—military personnel, first responders, and civilians alike. For medics, the aftermath saw a heightened emphasis on combat readiness and trauma care, as we found ourselves deploying to areas where our skills were critical in saving lives under fire. The immediate response to 9/11 was a surge of patriotism and a sense of duty. Many, including myself, were motivated by the need to serve and protect. The warzones we entered in Iraq and Afghanistan had a distinct intensity, with the constant need to provide medical care in challenging and dangerous environments. It also redefined the scope of care, blending battlefield medicine with innovations in trauma care that have since improved survival rates for soldiers and civilians alike. The impact of 9/11 endures, not just in military strategy or geopolitics, but in the personal stories of those who served. For many of us, it was the catalyst for a career that tested our resilience, taught us the value of life, and left a lasting imprint on our view of sacrifice and service. #NeverForget #September11 #ArmyMedicReflections #ServiceAndSacrifice #CombatMedic #Patriotism #WarOnTerror
As we observe the 23rd anniversary of 9/11, we at the Gary Sinise Foundation remember the lives lost and the heroic actions of first responders and brave civilians. We will continue to honor the memory of those who served and sacrificed, ensuring their legacy lives on. Together, we vow to never forget the courage of those who defended our nation and the impact they left behind.

Seems that the formulation of a "Community.. ." is in order.
According to Moreau de Saint-Méry, the following quote is attributed to none other than the great King Henry Christophe: “Henry [First of His Name], by the Grace of God and the Constitutional Law of the State, King of Haiti, Sovereign of Tortuga, Gonave and other adjacent Islands, Destroyer of Tyranny, Regenerator and Benefactor of the Haitian Nation, Creator of Her Moral, Political and Martial Institutions, First Crowned Monarch of the New World, Defender of the Faith, and Founder of the Royal and Military Order of Saint-Henry.” Sounds like something from Games of Thrones, doesn’t it? So next time you hear this fictitious royal bragging about her accomplishments, “Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, The Unburnt, Queen of Meereen, Queen of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Protector of the Realm, Lady Regent of the Seven Kingdoms, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons.” think of our real King Christophe, who actually accomplished a lot for his subjects. Haitians don’t have to pretend. We did world-changing shit! Let’s do it again. We have the blueprints and receipts!

On this day in 1322, Charles IV ascended to the throne, becoming the final monarch of the Capetian dynasty. Amidst the opulence of the French court, Charles IV underwent a majestic coronation ceremony, surrounded by the nobility, clergy, and dignitaries of the realm. The event symbolized not only the continuation of the monarchy but also the challenges and responsibilities that awaited the new king. Charles IV's reign witnessed a continuation of the Hundred Years' War against England. His diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving conflicts and securing alliances were complex and multifaceted. Charles worked to strengthen ties with neighboring kingdoms, seeking support against the English threat. However, the war's persistent nature and evolving political dynamics posed constant challenges to his diplomatic endeavors. The economic landscape during Charles IV's rule was characterized by the aftermath of his predecessors' financial policies. The kingdom faced economic challenges, including debt and strained resources due to the ongoing conflict. Charles attempted to address these issues through reforms and measures to stabilize the economy, although the long-term impact of these efforts remained limited. A defining aspect of Charles IV's reign was the lack of a direct male heir, leading to a succession crisis. The death of his infant son, John I, in 1316, raised questions about the continuity of the Capetian line. Charles, faced with the absence of a clear male heir, promulgated the Salic Law, excluding females from the succession. This decision would have significant implications for future royal successions in France. Charles IV's death in 1328 marked the end of the Capetian dynasty. His passing without a direct male heir set the stage for the Valois dynasty to ascend to the throne, further complicating the already intricate web of medieval European politics. #mylineage?#medievalhistory?#medievaltimes?#medievale?#medieval?#europeanhistory?#knight?#middleages?#warriorhistory?#medievalarmor?#militaryhistory?#armour?#medievalworld?#medievalknight?#charlesiv?#medievalmonarchy?#frenchhistory?#hundredyearswar https://lnkd.in/gdXb759r

From the article: “In the Navy, Spiritual Readiness is about sustaining the courage to make sacrifices, both big and small, in the defense of the Constitution of the United States. Within the sea services, people sustain that courage by focusing on the meaning, the value, and the purpose of their lives and of their time in uniform. To help them do that, Navy Chaplains help connect them to the transcendent and to communities that share their convictions about the ultimate good,“ https://lnkd.in/g2UHgskD

September 11, 2024 The border crisis has been moved, by the Biden/Harris Administration, across America to your state where your state tax dollars will have to deal with all the medical, hospital, educational, housing, crime and other costs for the millions of illegals. An army of terrorist “gotaways” are now in America. An estimated 100,000 gotaways a month, 1,200,000 a year. Are they criminals, sex predators, mentally ill, human traffickers, gang members, drug cartel members, terrorists or sleeper cells? An army of terrorists now in America will make the 911 World Trade Center look like a warm-up and no one is paying attention! Only 19 terrorists to take out the World Trade Center and we have over one million, per year, “gotaways” that crossed the border. Just think what 190,000 terrorists will be able to do. The border and America are not secure. Our cities are not safe. America is not safe.
Today, we remember the immense sacrifices made on September 11th, a day that forever changed our nation. We honor the bravery of the first responders, the strength of the survivors, and the memory of those who perished. On this Patriot Day, let us stand together in unity, as we always have, to remember and to proclaim: Never Forget.
