Have you ever thought about the best way to remove your makeup while staying at a hotel? Hotels are considered a home away from home; where you find comfort, you get value for what you paid for. Since hotel staff are intentional about satisfying their guests, guests on the other hand need to play their part by handling the hotel amenities with care such as towels. Bath Towels are provided for the guests to dry off after a shower but some guests do use them as makeup removal leaving a permanent stain on the towel which is not good for the business because the hotel will keep incurring losses. That we pay for a service does not mean we should abuse it. The best way to remove your makeup is to use appropriate items like wipes. As we always look forward to having a good experience as a guest let's ensure that the hotel also has a good experience having us as their guests. It will be a win-win situation. "I've logged a job with facilities". ?? That was literally what a receptionist said to me when I asked why there were leaves in the front entrance. ?? ?? ?? Here's the thing: in the autumn, leaves will blow in through your front doors and make a mess of your reception space. By the time a job has been raised, a person assigned, and then directed to the location, if it's a windy day there will be even more leaves. This is just how it is. ??♀? My reaction? I went straight out and bought the smartest looking dustpan and brush I could find and delivered it to the reception team. ?? Why? ?? ?? ?? If I see it, so does your guest/client/customer. And leaves in the reception makes you look like you don't care. Or you don't pay attention to the details. And details. Matter. To. Your. Customers. Yes, we all have our specific jobs we need to do, and that we are paid for, but my attitude has always been that we are all working with one goal in mind: providing the best experience for our guests imaginable. So to meet that goal, we need to drop the bureaucracy. Collaborate. Help each other out. And smile while we're doing it. ***************************** How is your guest experience? Does hospitality belong in every industry?

I have noticed this ad for a job opening recently and, while I like the layout, picture, color scheme etc, I feel there is something wrong here. Why are we using pictures of beautiful people when looking for staff? What if I don't look like this young lady in the picture but I have the skills and experience because I worked very hard in my life to acquire them? Why another employer/hotel can give me the opportunity and this no? We are often talking about equality in salary, benefits, career progression and job opportunities, but why am I possibly being judged based on my body, color, race, religion, sexual orientation, etc, etc?
