There are special rules to observe?when employing an apprentice in the UK. Basically, an apprentice takes part in a structured training program that combines working with studying. Apprentices gain practical experience while earning a wage and working towards a recognised qualification. An apprentice can be a new or current employee. #Apprenticeships #Apprentice #Employment

Just been listening to https://lnkd.in/e8633pqi on Channel 4 News talking about Apprenticeships. This did nothing for my blood pressure!. There have NEVER been level 1 Apprenticeships, but more to the point, higher level does not necessarilly equal higher quality. There are some excellent level 2 Apprenticeships still delivered that go a long way to supporting social mobility. Lastly, the reason for poor completion rates is nothing to do with the "old lower quality Apprenticeships" and everything to do with the clunky and poorly functioning system that now exists. My last word....Please can the PM stop saying that they are going to create 100,000 new Apprenticeships. Employers create Apprenticeships not Government, so unless there are going to be 100,000 new Apprenticeship vacancies in the Public Sector, this is just misleading. Feeling better now. Please excuse the rant.
