This is my hallway this morning, just before I pack the car ?? These are gift and food donations we’ve collected for Caring for Communities and People. Amazing, right? While I am humbled and awed by the generosity of others, I am also deeply saddened by the need to run a campaign like this, because so many people are in poverty. This pile isn’t even 1% of the 2,000 gifts and 2,900 food hampers that are needed this year. More needed than ever before. In fact, the campaign needs a whopping ￡110,000 worth of donations, just to reach their goal of supporting families in Gloucestershire. We can’t take the credit for donating these, but we have acted as a depot for drop-offs and this will be the third batch we’ve gathered so far. For the last three years, we’ve been working for CCP, and Hamper Scamper has become one of our favourite annual campaigns. This year, somehow for the very first time, we’ll be in front of the camera and not behind it. We’re off to take part in a volunteering day, sorting gifts and packing food parcels to help spread some Christmas cheer. I can’t wait! (After I’ve played Tetris with the car of course). Albertsons companies has made a significant impact in feeding hungry families and providing food to natural disaster areas, including the recent LA Fires. Thank you to everyone who has worked to provide food to our communities in need. “In fiscal year 2023, Nourishing Neighbors raised more than $35 million, enabling over 143 million meals to be donated to our communities, including those affected by disasters. This included a $7 million donation from Albertsons Companies' O Organics? Fight Hunger, Serve Hope campaign to combat hunger for school-aged children during summer months. These Nourishing Neighbors funds enabled more than 770 grants to support more than 48 million individuals. Highlights include: ? Enabling nearly 19 million nutritious breakfasts to children through the Nourishing Neighbors breakfast campaign. ? Providing gift cards for more than 343,000 families to purchase food during the holidays. ?
