Quick compare/contrast: First dev role of nearly 2 years: - Nothing more than HTML/CSS in a CMS Second dev role in first 4 months: - Just deployed a site using AWS infra - Installed my first module - Weekly feature branch opportunities It’s painfully true how working at the wrong job can derail your career significantly. In my last role, I had to slack on my hobbies and physical health just so I could prevent myself from regressing as a developer, and commute to an office where no net-positive collaborations occurred. I’m flying right now. I still have so long of a way to go, but I’m just in shock. I’m working with a great team, I’m learning a lot, and I’m empowered to DIY as much as I am to reach out when a process is unclear to me. Documentation on point too. Can hardly wait until I get my PC setup for Drupal w/AWS and WordPress w/WPEngine! Once I have my own content to take screenshots from, my aim is to produce more content to help demystify AWS features I’m familiar with, as well as compare and contrast WordPress to Drupal. My big goal is to write a better compare and contrast document than anything I found online leading up to it.

Docker WordPress can be extremely slow. However, I have a solution. In the docker-compose.yml file, where the volumes are configured, simply add the :delegated flag. #docker #wordpress
