Are you ready to suit up with clothing crafted from...recycled plastic bottles? Yep, the apparel industry is getting creative in their fight against textile waste! I came across a post just yesterday, she calls herself "an ordinary Ibadan girl" Please if you know her, tag her to this post She makes various things with plastics that are tagged "waste" Innovative companies are spinning recycled synthetics and plant-based materials into wearable, eco-conscious gear. Those old water bottles and containers? They're being remixed into incredibly soft yet durable tees, leggings, and jackets that perform like athletic wear. Same sleek tech, way less plastic clogging landfills! Biodegradable shoes made from merino wool and bamboo are also stepping onto the scene. When you're done walking miles in their cloud-like comfort, they'll simply decompose back into the earth. Their vibrant shades just get re-charged with UV rays from the sun! Now that's brilliant. It's really amazing seeing eco-innovation transforming our closets and drawers. What sustainable apparel tech has caught your eye or would you love to see designers create next? “The impacts on the textile industry are chaotic and disruptive. Fabrics blended with non-recyclable materials like spandex will likely need to be phased out. The practice of destroying unsold goods to protect brand exclusivity will be outlawed. The ent concept of "planned obsolescence" (looking at you, Fast Fashion) is incompatible with circularity's ethos of extending the economic life of products.” #sustainability #fashionindustry #circularaccountability https://lnkd.in/gDFPznaX
