This is your answer… Tune into the APAC conference and hear from some deadly leaders in the field as they share updates that have come from the community of practice. You don’t have to comment, or ask any questions. No foundational knowledge required. We (as in all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples) just need you to show and listen. We need you to enter, and engage in Indigenous spaces more often. Our future wellbeing is linked to the psychology students you are educating. You as psychology educators, have so much power over the students learning and development. Use your power for good and help us transform Indigenous health and wellbeing.

My dear young friend Ahmad Fawzan, a budding new scholar in India, is very keen on building good relations between the diverse faiths there - no easy task. It was my distinct pleasure to get a chance to talk to him and see his humility and heartfelt desire to serve the Ummah - all our brothers and sisters in humanity. We discussed, among other things, two of the pillars of Da'wah (according to my approach): 1. Dialogue: - any time we seek to engage others, especially in difficult subjects, we need to have two way communication. A give and take of ideas; not necessarily to 'convert' them, but to build genuine understanding. 2. Relationships: - This goes beyond dialogue and develops lasting partnerships in good work. It takes time, and a real acknowledgement of our true nature and the impressions others have of us. The Prophet Muhammad (Allaah's Blessings and Peace be upon him) had a reputation for truthfulness and trustworthiness long before his prophethood. We need to build a similar reputation if we want our words to carry any weight with others.
