Hey, fam! I have great news! ?? The Department of General Services (DGS) has released an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the State of California Community Outreach and Education Services Master Service Agreement (MSA). DGS and OCPSC have been collaborating on this MSA since the fall of 2022, and once executed will create the state’s first MSA specifically for community-based nonprofits. This opportunity is one way the State will look to partner with community-based nonprofit organizations in the coming years. OCPSC encourages interested parties to submit a bid.?? This MSA will be a multiple-award agreement that will create a list of pre-approved community-based nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status that California state and local governmental agencies can contract with on outreach and engagement projects. The goal of the MSA is to create contracting efficiencies for the state and nonprofits when partnering. Any community-based nonprofit is encouraged to submit a bid. Addressing America's affordable housing crisis is a pressing challenge that affects millions of individuals and families across the nation. The escalating costs of housing, combined with stagnant wages and rising living expenses, have pushed many low- and moderate-income households into precarious financial situations. Families struggling to afford housing often face difficult choices, sacrificing essential aspects of life needed to survive, which can lead to long-term negative impacts on their well-being and that of their children. By prioritizing affordable housing, we can create a foundation for stability, allowing families to focus on opportunities for growth and development. To effectively tackle this crisis, a collaborative approach is necessary, involving government, non-profits, and private sectors. Thankfully our Hudson County Community has those within it advocating for affordable housing. We are honoring multiple advocates at our upcoming fundraiser cocktail party, “An Evening of Promise Gala: Bridging A Better Future Together!” Help us combat the ongoing shortage of affordable housing by attending our upcoming event and supporting its honorees! You can purchase your tickets via the following link: https://lnkd.in/ebufN3SY Remember, together WE can, so what are you waiting for? "Nonprofits are petrified right now." – Rick Cohen, National Council of Nonprofits And with good reason. The recent executive order has left organizations across the country—and right here in Frederick County—wondering if their funding is gone, for how long, and what that means for the people they serve. Let me be clear. This isn’t just about grants and budgets. It’s about neighbors in need losing access to food, healthcare, and essential support services. It’s about the nonprofit workforce, a major employer in Frederick County, already stretched thin as grant funding fails to keep pace with the rising cost of living to remain a competitive employer. Now, with funding paused, nonprofits that pay upfront for services and wait for reimbursement are facing even greater financial strain. This will exacerbate the need for nonprofits to have reserves to keep programs running—something many simply don’t have. When funding is uncertain, lives are uncertain. We need solutions before nonprofits—and the communities they serve and employ—are left without a safety net. Sending hugs to my nonprofit colleagues in the community as they tackle the unknown. ?? https://lnkd.in/eG6SXRjW
