Last week, CESA 2 attended the Wisconsin Rural Schools Alliance (WiRSA) conference in the Wisconsin Dells, connecting with rural districts from across the state to share about our CLASS program and other CESA 2 opportunities. Kaycee Rogers led a breakout session on “Best Practices for Supporting Rural ELs (and their teachers!).” She shared insights from her dissertation research, exploring rural multilingual student enrollment, programming, staffing trends, and effective practices to support rural EL teachers’ leadership and retention. We were honored to attend and support such a great conference!

Well done Grace Edge & the Recognition of Prior Learning team. Tune in tonight to #RTENationwide on RTé One at 7pm. See first-hand the impact of RPL and access pathways to higher level education can have. Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is a higher education assessment process that allows individuals who may not meet traditional entry criteria to have the opportunity to access a range of educational courses. RLP acknowledges the skills people have gained outside formal education settings – through work experiences, training, volunteering or in daily life. At the TU Dublin Enterprise Academy we are pioneering innovative approaches to talent development for workplace learners. We co-develop accredited educational solutions of which #RPL is one, to boost #lifelonglearning in the workforce. We engage directly with employers of scale, with Skillnet Ireland sectoral business networks, and with trade and industry representative bodies to support multiple access pathways to higher level education for experienced learners across multiple sectors. #HCIPillar3 #workplacelearners #talentdevelopment

The HBdV Fellows introduce themselves. We start with Merle-Sophie Thielmann from the Universit?t Mannheim. At the #7ECSLHE, I present a seminar concept introducing pre-service teachers to diversity-oriented school improvement processes. Students gained insight into the implementation of these processes during visits to cooperating schools and reflected on their future roles in shaping the schools they will work at. The presentation of the seminar concept is supplemented by qualitative analyses of students' written reflections and group discussions on the potential benefits of service learning in a) addressing the challenges faced by schools in socially disadvantaged areas and b) preparing pre-service teachers for teaching at and shaping schools in increasingly diverse environments.

With the National Association of Independent Schools People of Color Conference happening this week in Denver, I'm revisiting one of the most popular episodes of The Teacher's Forum: Safe Spaces & Resilient Voices. Our guests: Jana Dorsey Jacqueline Y Pelzer and Bobby Edwards share the transformative history and impact of POCC, its role in fostering safe spaces for BIPOC educators, and why this conference remains a cornerstone for equity in education. If you are a veteran attendee or have never attended POCC, many listeners have called this episode "mandatory listening." Don’t miss it! https://lnkd.in/ewUwKpXc
