FWH Associates, P.A. was having such a great time at the #CommunityLive #CAIkeystone conference and Expo on Thursday, that we did not highlight #NationalPetDay! National Pet Day is dedicated to celebrating pets and acknowledging the joy they bring to our lives. It also serves to elevate awareness about the unending needs of pets, especially those in shelters, and to encourage adoption. Recognized across America, this day invites people to reflect on the value and positive influence pets have in our lives, such as reducing stress, encouraging physical activity, and fostering social connections. For many American families, pets are considered full-fledged members, and this day represents an occasion to show appreciation for their companionship and loyalty. Celebrating National Pet Day often involves activities that honor pets and tangibly demonstrate love for them. These typically include special treats or meals, extended playtimes, additional cuddles, or even a new toy. Pet adoption events and charity fundraisers for rescue organizations also peak during this period, emphasizing responsible pet ownership and care. National Pet Day is observed annually on April 11, serving as a reminder of the joy and enrichment pets bring into our lives while underlining the importance of their care and welfare. Facts about National Pet Day ? Having a pet in the home can reduce a child's likelihood of developing related allergies by as much as 33 percent. ? Dogs have almost 220 million smell-detecting cells, compared to the mere 5 million in humans. ? The most popular pets among U.S. households in 2023 were: 1) Dog – 69 million 2) Cat – 45 million 3) Freshwater Fish – 11 million 4) Bird – 9 million 5) Reptile – 6 million Show us pictures of your pets!! #TeamFWH #FWHassociates #PetDay2024 #FurryFriends #ReptilePets #GoForaWalk #LovePets #Therapeutic #ShowUsYourPets

This Alabama story begins inside the RED circle in this photo. Let's just say there's something special about the state of Alabama. Companies in this state always find a way to work together especially when it has a give-back impact. Back in May of this year, we began planning a large project to create new Cheeriodicals pet adoption kits for a client. This client wanted to pack and deliver 2,400 of these kits to more than 60 humane shelters across the country to provide to new pet owners on adoption day. We were tasked with finding the right items to include in this pet adoption kit, and you know we had to include some TREATS. Our research led us to find out that we have a major pet products company based in Red Bay, AL - Sunshine Mills, Inc. A contact of ours at Alabama Launchpad in Birmingham connected us with the CEO of Sunshine Mills, Alan Bostick. After a very short series of emails, we received a shipment of several pallets, 1,500 pounds, of their doggie treats to include in the 2,400 Cheeriodicals pet adoption kits, completely free of charge. In this photo sent to our Facebook page from one of the 60+ animal shelters included in this project, you can see bag of treats in the red circle. Special thanks to Sunshine Mills for adding such an important Alabama-based element to this national project. Your generous contribution made such an important impact on this project - treats matter! As we celebrate National Adopt-a-Dog Day and National Dog Week, it’s a wonderful reminder of the incredible difference we can make in the lives of dogs who need loving homes. Franklin came into our lives through the Hawaiian Humane Society’s adoption program—a decision that transformed not only Frankie’s life but ours as well. Adopting him gave us the chance to provide him with a safe, loving environment, and in return, he has filled our home with joy and companionship. At the Finley Fort Foundation (FFF), we are deeply committed to promoting the well-being of pets like Frankie. Our mission is to support activities that ensure dogs, and all pets, live longer, healthier, and more fulfilling lives. From providing financial assistance for veterinary care to advocating for pet wellness initiatives, we believe in giving back to the animals that enrich our lives in so many ways. There are many ways to support this important cause: ??Adopt: Consider opening your heart and home to a dog in need through adoption from your local shelter. ??Donate: Contributions to organizations like the Hawaiian Humane Society or FFF can help cover medical expenses, shelter operations, and rescue efforts. ??Volunteer: Shelters often need help with dog walking, fostering, or assisting with adoption events. ??Advocate: Raise awareness about responsible pet ownership, adoption, and the importance of animal welfare within your community. We hope that you’ll take the time to celebrate. #FinleyFortFoundation #FinleyFort #ouiouifinley #frankyfreckles #nationaldogweek #nationaladoptadogday #hawaiianhumane ??????

Adopt, don't shop. Every pet adopted means a chance at a new beginning, offering love, companionship, and a forever home. We can make a significant impact by choosing compassion over convenience. Prioritizing adoption from shelters and rescue organizations gives deserving animals a second chance. With all that said, how is adopting from shelters better than buying from pet stores? You have the answer: ?? Adoption from shelters and rescue groups helps reduce euthanasia rates and gives homeless animals a chance at a loving home. ?? Many adopted pets are already spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and screened for health issues. ?? Shelter pets often receive basic training and socialization, making them adaptable to new environments. ?? Providing a forever home to an animal in need brings immense joy and gratitude to both the pet and the adopter. Now, let’s look at this monetarily: ?? Adoption fees are typically lower than purchasing from breeders or pet stores. These fees often include vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and sometimes microchipping. ?? Many shelter pets receive initial veterinary care, reducing immediate medical expenses for adopters. ?? In some regions, adoption fees and related expenses may qualify for tax deductions or incentives, offering additional financial benefits. Clearly, it's a win-win for both the adopter and the pet! I believe in the power of adoption to transform lives. Together, let's create a world where every pet has a loving home. #AdoptDontShop #AnimalWelfare #RescuePets P.S. I wanted my first LinkedIn post to be about something that means a lot to me, and I couldn’t have chosen a better topic!

Today is National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day. Shelters are not forever homes or sanctuaries for healthy, adoptable dogs and cats. So many shelter dogs and cats are living perfect lives in loving homes today, which goes to show that they're not broken. Sure, they might have had a traumatic past, an injury they've healed from, a disease they've battled against, or simply been abandoned by their families for no fault of theirs'. But well, don't we all come with baggage? And don't we all heal? Let's consider giving shelter pets a chance and open our doors and hearts for them. At Mars Petcare, we've firmly believed in the motto, 'Adopt, Don't Shop' and that advocacy for adoption is the way forward for more and more shelter and community pets to find loving homes. And what better advocacy than featuring your own Associates on the pages of a national newspaper, speaking for the cause? Read on to know more about how adoption saves lives. Consider visiting your nearest shelter. A loving companion is waiting for you. Aanchal Jain Bharani Geetha M Yojana Gawade Salil Murthy Nitin Jain #NationalAdoptAPetDay #AdoptDontShop
