Attention business owners! Beneficial Ownership Reports are due by December 31, 2024. This federal requirement applies to business owners, whether your business is structured as an LLC, a Partnership, or a Corporation. Did you register a business with the Secretary of State in 2024 or before? This requirement applies to you! Have you registered your business with the Secretary of State in 2024 or prior years but haven’t activated it yet? This requirement still applies! Certain non-profit organizations need to meet this requirement as well. For example, were you a registered non-profit, but lost your non-profit status? This requirement still applies! Are you a non-profit registered in your state but haven’t obtained a federal non-profit designation yet? This requirement applies to you too! Failure to file could result in serious consequences, such as: 1. A daily fee of $591, 2. An additional fine of up to $10,000, 3. And criminal charges. The Southwest Florida Talent Hub - led by Collaboratory - has just received $19.3M from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to address environmental challenges related to disaster preparedness. The funding will increase community resilience, reduce pollution and build community capacity. The funding announcement is further testament to the group's ability to convene the private, public, and social sectors to address complex social challenges. In recent years, they were awarded a Good Jobs Challenge award, several private foundation grants to address employment gaps, and have served as a lead for recovery efforts after recent hurricanes. This EPA award will support the establishment of four resilience hubs that provide supplies or social services residents need every day. These spaces can transition in a disaster to provide critical information, emergency support and health supplies to the surrounding communities.
