In a world that often feels increasingly disconnected, it’s fair to wonder: Is an empathy gap emerging that could threaten the future of nonprofits? Nonprofits rely on empathy as their foundation. It’s the very thing that drives people to volunteer, donate, and work tirelessly toward missions that matter. But as we see societal divides grow and digital interactions replace face-to-face ones, the capacity for genuine, actionable empathy may be shrinking.
