When I first started in sales, I thought success was all about individual effort. Closing deals, hitting targets, and pushing forward. But there was one deal I just couldn’t land, no matter how hard I tried. It was frustrating, and I felt like I was missing something. That’s when I started leaning on my team more, asking for their input, and sharing the challenge. One colleague had a different approach, another had insights I hadn’t considered. Together, we turned that deal around and won it. Baring in mind this was a 6 figure deal at the time and if I’m honest I got greedy to begin with. It took me a few days to ask for help and seek external support but all that done was drive anxiety, caused overwhelm and honestly made me a greedy person within that period of time. It was a few days wasted of running in circles all because I wanted the deal for myself. When in reality the only logical way to move forward and grow was using external support.
