It’s World Environment Day, the perfect time to reflect on the steps we’re taking towards a cleaner, more sustainable environment. Here are just some of the initiatives we’re leading as part of our emissions reduction journey over the last year: ?? In the last 12 months, we saved more than 160 tonnes of CO2 through no tailpipe emissions from 4 electric buses, equivalent to taking 35 cars off the road. ?? We also saved more than 770 tonnes of CO2 through no tailpipe emissions from our hybrid buses. That’s equivalent to taking 168 cars off the road. ?? We’re also making savings with the way we do things at our depots. 75% of our depots now use recycled water, that we harvested using water tanks, to clean our buses. ?? 63% of our depots produce solar energy – equating to 365 tonnes of CO2 savings through solar energy. ?? We’re also continuing our efforts to make sure nothing goes to waste, repurposing our assets to reinforce our commitment to reducing our environmental footprint. This year, we’ve donated buses to Fire Rescue Victoria for use in drills and training sessions. We’ve also donated four of our ex-route buses to be repurposed as temporary shelters for community organisation sleepbus. And we’re not stopping there. As we look to the future, we’re continuing to invest in innovative ways to reduce our footprint and contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable world for everyone. Happy World Environment Day! #WorldEnvironmentDay #sustainability
