We created Custody Peace to raise awareness around?#coercivecontrol?and how this impacts the conditions in our homes and throughout our world, including in our schools, workplaces, legal system, various institutions and our planet as a whole. On a micro (domestic violence) and macro level (global violence), the tactics of abusers / oppressors are the same. ―They are rooted in the perpetuation of separation from truth, health, support, family, land, culture, resources and from oneself. In both cases, systems are weaponized,?#DARVO?tactics are always present (to control the narrative) and in many cases, the deliberate harm of children is the clear intention. However, when we collectively prioritize children, human rights, protection from violence/abuse, truth and accountability, we will empower, support collective healing, and the healing of our communities and planet in every way imaginable. Our goal is to evolve the conditions within our systems so that cycles of abuse are replaced with natural cycles of health and regeneration in our homes, communities and planet ―with a special focus on mothers and children ― by raising awareness via curated news, research, original educational media and collective advocacy. www.custody-peace.org

There are so many ways we can all come together to build strong communities and support families (which is prevention). This month, and every month, take time to do simple things for yourself, your neighbors or families in your community. Here are a few ideas to get you started. ~Help a friend, neighbor, or relative. Being a parent isn’t easy. Offer a helping hand take care of the children, so the parent(s) can rest or spend time together. ~Help yourself. When the big and little problems of your everyday life pile up to the point you feel overwhelmed and out of control; take time out. ~Get involved. Ask your community leaders, clergy, library, and schools to develop services to meet the needs of healthy children and families. ~Promote programs in school. Teaching children, parents, and teachers prevention strategies can help to keep children safe. Don’t forget to wear blue on Friday to raise awareness for Prevention Month!

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month — a time for communities and organizations across the nation to elevate the importance of creating systems, programs, and policies that support child victims of abuse. According to the National Children’s Alliance, more than 600,000 children are abused in the U.S. each year — and this is only what is reported. Nearly two-thirds of all cases handled by Child Advocacy Centers (CAC) involve child sexual abuse. Child abuse and neglect is preventable and requires a shared responsibility of collective action on all fronts. We are proud to partner with CACs across the U.S. to elevate awareness of child abuse, specifically as it relates to pornography exposure. Read more about our new initiative: https://buff.ly/3UyUTcN

Research is constantly confirming that children are very aware of domestic abuse taking place in their home and that they are negatively affected by the abuse. Children are often described as 'witnessing' domestic abuse. In reality, it would be more correct to describe them as 'experiencing' the abuse. It is a violence that enters through the eyes and ears. Barnardos Ireland are launching a new campaign which aims to educate and raise awareness of the impact of childhood domestic violence and abuse. It is so important when addressing domestic violence that the voices of children impacted are heard #KidsVsDomesticViolence
At least 1 in 4 children Barnardos works with have experienced the impact of domestic violence and abuse. Our new campaign #KidsVsDomesticViolence aims to give them an opportunity to tell their side of the story. Throughout the week you will hear their words on radio stations nationwide. The campaign is a multi-agency collaboration with services from around Ireland and includes the voices of more than 74 children and young people to date who have lived with the impact of domestic violence and want to have their voices heard. It was a privilege to work with them to bring this campaign to life. Thank you to our partners Rethink Ireland and Tusla - Child and Family Agency for supporting the project. Every day, thousands of children and young people across Ireland face domestic violence. It’s time we listen to their voices. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/guRAM-cM

Every year, around 10 million people become victims of domestic violence, which equates to just about 20 people every minute. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have been in an abusive relationship, while 1 in 5 women and 1 in 7 men have faced severe physical violence. As many as 3 out of 4 Americans know of another person that has, or is being abused by another individual, but a lot of times nothing is done about it. A woman is assaulted or beaten every 9 seconds. And the list, sadly, goes on. SPAN has been working tirelessly to help survivors of domestic violence overcome any obstacles in their path to healing, hope, and new opportunity through comprehensive support, advocacy, education, and community organizing. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and your support is more crucial than ever as domestic violence rates continue to rise and government funding faces further cuts, we need to stand together. With your help, we can continue to empower survivors, raise awareness, and drive change in our communities. Together, we can make a difference.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Pine Bluff Arsenal #AmericasArsenal Family Advocacy Program seeks to raise awareness and provide support to those who are victims of domestic violence. This year, there are two campaign themes: “What’s Inside Matters” and “Pause”. “What’s Inside Matters” speaks to survivors of abuse or those who notice risk factors for harmful behaviors by their partner. “Pause” speaks to those who recognize their engagement in potentially harmful behavior toward their partner and seek help. Since the development of Domestic Violence Awareness Month in 1987, a movement has sparked not only raising awareness and prevention but also providing immense support to victims of domestic violence. Those who experience domestic violence should not face it alone and know about the resources available to them. Domestic violence can happen to anyone, anytime. We are committed to the safety and well-being of our military community. We must remember that domestic violence is not only a local problem, but a global problem. Together, let us unite by breaking the silence to end domestic violence! #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth
