3 steps to get into every Ivy League University: It’s not possible Even if you cure cancer, getting into every ivy league is impossible because every university looks for different values in their students. Some want spikes while others want a well-rounded profile. Some want rebels, while some want a “spike”. Being yourself is often what helps you stand out to most colleges; however if you’d like to tailor your profile to your dream university, talking to a student there can help you immensely because they know exactly what their college is looking for. We can help! Let’s say your dream university is Dartmouth, we’ll connect you with a current Dartmouth student that will help you through every step of your application and make sure the qualities your college is looking for, shines through. Drop us a DM if you’re interested!

"The exams came at a good time as I could focus on them instead of mum’s diagnosis and really I just wanted to make her proud." GCSEs are stressful. Let alone when your mum is undergoing chemotherapy. Maddie is one of our incredible Zero Gravity members who is featured in The Metro this week. She talks about growing up in a single-parent family, and what happens when that parent is diagnosed with cancer - but you still have to do your exams ?? It's an unimaginable situation. But our community is tough. And our members are ambitious. So when the odds are stacked against them, they push through. Maddie threw herself into her work, saying that she "became very determined to not let it affect my results as I wanted to prove to myself what I could achieve." And let us tell you, she nailed her results. In fact, she did so well that she's bagged five offers to the best universities in the country, with a firm choice of the University of Oxford to study French and Italian ?? Maddie, we're honoured to have you as a part of our community. You encapsulate our members. Powerful, dynamic, hard-working. And off to greatness. Maddie's story is just one of many. We have the most ambitious socially mobile talent from across all four corners of the UK?on our platform. It is our mission to get them to where they deserve to be. Joining us from as early as Year 12, we make sure to give our members options. We give them the knowledge they need to write the best application to continue academics at the most elite universities in the country. We put them in touch with our partners, the most high-flying businesses in the country, and upskill them towards success in the working world. We power them up, ensuring that the next gen of talent is ready to hit the ground running - and heads straight to the top. Maddie, keep us posted on those results. We're rooting for you. The whole community is behind you ?? You can read Maddie's story here: https://lnkd.in/eV-B_fNF #gcses #oxforduniversity #ucas #socialmobility

Childhood curiosity turned into a groundbreaking discovery Heman Bekele, an Ethiopian-born kid in the US, invented a soap with the potential to treat skin cancer. As impressive as his invention is, it's not what truly amazed me. It's the opportunities he received, the mentorship he was given, and the recognition of his passion by his teachers, school, and community. It’s the support he got from various institutions. A few weeks ago, I wrote about a high school friend named Biruk here https://lnkd.in/dCEuBuWV a math prodigy who, due to a lack of recognition and opportunities, ended up being ??? ????? ??? ?????? ????? ??? ?When I heard about Heman Bekele, Biruk immediately came to mind. If Biruk had received even half the recognition, mentorship, and opportunities that Heman did, he might not have invented a cure for cancer, but he would certainly have achieved more than he did. ?????? ?? ???? ?? ????? ???? ?? ??? ?????? ???? ?? ?????? recognize ????? ???? ???????? ??? ??????? ????????? ???? ??????? ???? ???? ????? ?????? ??? ?????? ????? ?????? ???? ???? ?????? ????? ???? ????? ??????? ?????? ???? ????? ??? ?? ???? ???? ???? ??????? ???? ?? ???????? ????????? let's nurture children's curiosity, recognize their talents, gift and effort , and guide them to use their gifts, realize their potential Until our educational system starts doing that #Education #TeenEmpowerment #recognizeeffort #MentorshipMatters #UnlockPotential

Today, I am highlighting: Charles Richard Drew, MD, pioneered blood preservation techniques that led to thousands of lifesaving blood donations. Drew’s doctoral research explored best practices for banking and transfusions and helped him establish the first large-scale blood banks. Drew then led the first American Red Cross Blood Bank and created mobile blood donation stations that are now known as bloodmobiles. He protested the American Red Cross’ policy of segregating blood by race and ultimately resigned from the organization. Drew’s true passion was surgery. He was appointed chairman of the department of surgery and chief of surgery at Freedmen’s Hospital (now known as Howard University Hospital) in Washington, D.C. During his time there, he went to great lengths to support young African Americans pursuing careers in the discipline.
