Streamlined bodies are efficient for underwater movement, but can seldom match the functionality of bluff bodies like submarines. A crucial aspect of underwater design is the wake, the disturbed flow downstream of the body caused by fluid moving around it. This wake not only generates drag but is also a key factor in stealth, as it can reveal the vehicle’s location. The authors, using numerical methods, study the wake patterns of a D-shaped bluff body with a blunt trailing edge under different arrangements of suction & injection on the rear. These configurations make for drag reduction, increased stealth, operational longevity, and precise navigation in underwater vehicles. Springs are indispensable components in airplanes, serving diverse roles in ensuring safety, comfort, and functionality. ?? Safety is the top priority in the aerospace sector, and any risk of spring failure is simply not an option - this is why spring testing is crucial. In the past, we've received several springs which were intended for use in the control panel of a plane, which failed during fatigue testing.
