So before being baptized by fire I would have seen this and thought: Sounds like a solid company if I ever am in a situation where I need a restoration company. Now I realize it means power and profit. I recommend you find a contractor certified with the IICRC who knows what IICRC actually stands for. I’ll have a follow up to this post with information that comes from head of legal counsel at Paul Davis on what their testing policy is for lead and asbestos. My impressions so far after studying IICRC ANSII standards and training with certified instructors is that your best bet is to hire independent contractors who’s lifeblood is supported by their work. I’ve said before that well-known, established franchises are usually missed opportunities for prospective franchise owners. For me and the people I work with, I’ve found the most success with relatively new up-and-coming franchise brands. Leaders who are battle-hardened in the industry. Companies with outstanding support for their franchisees. And even though it sounds riskier than betting on an established franchise, it’s really not. You’re investing in the founders as much as the business — and when they have a track record of creating successful franchises, and their new concept has a few key elements that I’ve learned to look for in my career, your odds of catching a business on the upswing are in your favor. Just watched Alex Hormozi's video on why franchise businesses aren't worth it. Honestly, it got me thinking. Alex brings up some interesting points, but I believe there's more to the story. First, not all franchises require $250,000 in legal fees to get started. There are many affordable options out there that don't demand such a hefty investment. Second, while it's true that not every business is ready to be franchised, franchising can be a fantastic way to grow a successful model and share it with others who are passionate about it. Third, the idea that only businesses making over a million dollars are worth franchising doesn't capture the whole picture. Many franchises start small and expand through the dedication of their franchisees.
