Ever wondered why beer bottles are brown? It's not just for looks. The story starts in the 17th century. Brewers discover glass bottles to keep beer fresh. But there's a problem. Leave the beer in sunlight too long? It starts to stink. The funky flavor caused by UV rays reacting with the hops. So they tinted the bottles brown to block out those pesky rays. But then World War II hits. Brown glass is in high demand. So the high-end brewers get crafting and switch to green which is now seen as a mark of quality even if it does less to block out the UV. Thats what makes NOAM beer so interesting. Their sleek clear glass bottles, minimalist design and premium price point is breaking all the rules. And it's working. People are buying it and paying top dollar for a beer that might not even taste as good as a cheaper brown-bottled brew. Especially if it gets exposed to some UV. That's the power of design. Of daring to be different. And it’s a lesson for designers everywhere. Know the rules. Understand the whys. But don't be afraid to challenge convention.
