Mental health encompasses all aspects of well-being, emphasizing prevention as the optimal approach, with diverse resources available for support.
#MentalHealthMonday ???? Thrilled to hear that Mental Health America ranks Indiana 24th in its recently released State of Mental Health in America report! This is a testament to the #collaborative efforts by #Hoosiers to fight #mentalillness and #addiction issues. With the state’s recent record investment, our aggressive implementation of the #988 system and the expansion of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic model, I am confident #Indiana will move higher in the next ranking. But more importantly, we are helping more and more #Hoosiers. Graphic: Mental Health America of Indiana

?? Yep, this is us. ?? We are a team of individuals united by a mission that runs deeper than a job title. With genuine empathy and compassion, we wake up every day with one goal: to save lives. For some of us, the story is personal—a journey through our own battles with addiction or mental health. For others, it’s the experience of walking alongside a loved one who needed help. These stories have shaped our passion and given us the heart to serve others. Every day, we strive to do more. To forge greater connections. To bring resources, hope, and healing to those who need it most. Because at the core of everything we do is this truth: every life matters. If you or someone you know is looking for support, know that we’re here, ready to walk this journey with you. Dear Mental Heath Advocates, Please take a moment to complete a new survey on why people are having trouble accessing quality behavioral health care in Florida by clicking the link below. The deadline to complete the survey is Friday, April 19. This survey is being conducted for the #MyFLFamilies Access to Care Subcommittee under the state’s Commission on Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder. The Access to Care Subcommittee is working on identifying the most common barriers people face in accessing the care they need. The survey is very short and completely anonymous. If you are a PEER, FAMILY MEMBER, or PROVIDER OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICE in Florida, your input is valuable to this study. “My goal in treatment with people is to build relationships.” - Stephanie Adams, MS, LPC, Integrated Team Manager at GRAND Mental Health April is the American Counseling Association's #CounselingAwarenessMonth, and we're taking this opportunity to spotlight one of the less talked-about benefits of behavioral health-specific #AI: Helping providers like Stephanie recognize and appreciate their own impact. ?? As Stephanie explains here, she knows that she is naturally integrating different evidence-based techniques into her conversations with clients, but she doesn’t always realize how and when she does it — and seeing it all spelled out in black and white through Eleos Health's #SessionInsights can be incredibly validating. Alleviating the burden of documentation is pretty great, too — but there’s something magical about showing behavioral health providers just how much their work matters. ? #CounselingAwarenessMonth #MoreCareLessOps #BehavioralHealth #HealthcareInnovation

Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay, a chance to celebrate the important and necessary progress we've made in increasing awareness of and access to mental health and substance use disorder treatment AND also acknowledge there is still work to be done to reduce stigma and ensure the care we receive is culturally congruent and patient centered. As a #SouthAsianWoman, I also reflect on the ways in which my behavioral health needs can't be supported in isolation. The ways in which I experience, respond to, and consider treatment for behavioral health conditions are rooted in my identity. The manifestation of my symptoms, who I feel comfortable sharing my needs with, the types of providers and supports I seek, whether I even seek treatment... they are all impacted by my culture and lived experiences. To have access to support and care that is rooted in my culture and honors my identity isn't a pipedream and it should be the expectation, not the exception. That is why I am grateful to my colleagues, Mariana Torres, Catherine Teare, and Stephanie Teleki, and so many, many others in California and beyond whose work focuses on behavioral health care and aims to ensure that mental health and substance use disorder services are accessible, equitable, respectful, and above all, centered on the person and their needs. #MentalHealth #SubstanceUseDisorder #HealthCare #CHCF
