Recently, Paul Fain highlighted the need of youth apprenticeship programs in our workforce in his newsletter “The Job.” He instantly noted that employers need to take a more active role in the U.S. education system to establish career pathways for a broader range of Americans, especially those without four-year degrees. Despite bipartisan support and the pressing demands of the labor market, progress in this area has been slow at best. Noting two The Brookings Institution reports, he commented that the best approach to solving this need is through regional, multi-sector coalitions, a goal CareerWise and our partners have been working toward for years. Apprenticeship Colorado’s Program Development Team is hosting a series of in-person events from October to December for Sponsors to revise their Program Standards. During the Revision Round-Up Event, you will go through your Standards step-by-step with their staff and work on your revisions with them. By the end of the event, you will have the information needed to submit your revised Standards and the tools to complete your Affirmative Action Plan (if applicable).
