?? Calling all RSEs around the world! ?? ?? ?? Two RSE Worldwide sessions will be hosted at #RSECon24, bringing together members of the global Research Software Engineering community. The sessions provide a platform for members of the diverse global community to meet, network, and share experiences and perspectives. Emerging communities can benefit from the experiences of more established networks, while longer-standing communities can better understand the international impact of RSEng. The growing number of events dedicated to RSEng taking place around the world is an encouraging sign of the strength and ongoing success of the RSE movement, but carries the threat of a “siloing” effect as local and regional groups focus ever more inward. This session presents an opportunity to discuss how we – as members of the international RSE community – can foster strong, vibrant local communities while reaping the benefits of international coordination and cooperation. Participate in the virtual event to launch the new edition of the Public Administration at a Glance: Latin America and the Caribbean 2024, a publication of the Inter-American Development @Bancoand the @OECD - OECD that offers the most comprehensive statistics on the state of public administrations in the region. The event will take place on March 13 at 10 a.m. ET and will be attended by authorities from both institutions and countries in the region, who will discuss the main findings of the study, which this year includes a special chapter on public management support for the green transition. ?? On July 2, 2024, the Milestone Group in Groningen held a stakeholders meeting to discuss ongoing projects and future collaborations. The session began with a brief introduction, highlighting the benefits of international cooperation. Participants emphasized the value of observing each other's work, recognizing similarities, and learning from one another, united in a common goal: helping non-European citizens find meaningful employment. We presented our baseline study, which resonated with many in the room. There was a collective sense of recognition – this is indeed the current situation in the northern Netherlands. ?? One key point raised during the discussion was the fragmentation of local initiatives. Many small, local projects exist, but municipalities are often unaware of them. As a result, a potentially valuable program in a neighboring municipality might go unnoticed by coaches of non-European citizens, simply because the information isn’t accessible. Combining these initiatives in some form could enhance their visibility and impact. Another issue discussed was the lack of visibility for young non-European citizens. Although projects are often designed with this group in mind, participation remains low. Several initiatives were shared during the meeting, sparking a productive conversation. This dialogue may serve as the foundation for a shared database, bringing together all relevant initiatives. Finally, we extended an invitation to all stakeholders to join our upcoming peer review, encouraging further collaboration and participation. Interreg Europe
